"The Montana Gallagher Collection is adventurous and romantic with scenes that transport you into the Wild West." --InD'Tale Magazine
"Any reader who loves Westerns, romances, historical fiction or just a great read would love this book, and I am pleased to be able to very highly recommend it. This is the first book I've read by this author, but it certainly won't be the last. Do yourself a favor and give it a chance!" --Reader's Favorite on Gallagher's Pride
"Journey to Hawk's Peak by MK McClintock is one of the most gripping and thrilling western novels that anyone will ever read. This is probably the best novel that I have yet read as a reviewer. It clicks on all cylinders--grammar, punctuation, plot, characterization, everything. This novel is a serious page-turner, and for fans of western fiction, it is a must-read." --Reader's Favorite

- Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2019Ms. McClintock's newest novel in the Gallagher series is pitch perfect for the genre. A quick start with our heroic, Colton Dawson, tracking rustlers plants the reader firmly in the western motif where justice always wins out against the bad guys. They're tough but he's smarter and skilled to handle them. The language and tone reminded me of some of my favorite classic westerns. The transition to the female protagonist, Ainslee, works well, and though the scenario may sound familiar her reaction is believable. It's that believably of character dialog and plotting that I found most appealing. Yes, the tropes are here, but they are so well done that the reader is not pulled out of the story. Ainslee is relatable and we certainly admire her. Unlike so many romantic female protagonists, she's refreshingly sensible. She heeds the wisdom of her newly found family and allows them to take on the threats instead of foolishly endangering them through impulsive reactions. She quickly learns the Gallagher way and adapts.
The attraction between Ainslee and Colton is immediate and Ms McClintock manages to take them through the romance in a natural progression of heated encounters.
For followers of the Challagher stories, there is much to pull them back into the lives and romances of members of the family. At times, the story felt like a family reunion, but that is an element attractive to readers of the genre, where we are allowed to catch up on the growth of children, new additions to the family, and the latest gossip.
Wild Montana Winds is a thoroughly satisfying read and recommended.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 12, 2019MK McClintock has woven every emotion possible into a series of books called the Montana Gallaghers. I read many books and this is honestly the best series I have ever read. It's a story of 3 siblings and the people who mean the most to them in a series of 6 books that reads as one book. Yes, each book is based on it's own character but all the others are as much a part of the story as well. Each character brings their own flavors to every story as much as the "star" of that book. I have never read a series that does this. There is as much adventure and mystery as there is romance. These are not sweet romance books but are in no way steamy! Romance, YES! A few curse words and typical wild west in gun toting and killing but the love scenes are brought up then skipped over to the next day, my kind of romance. I don't need details, just how they feel. Very well written and I look forward to other books by MK McClintock.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2020I enjoyed all the books so far but would encourage more diligent editing. Quite a few places where wrong words are used as well as awkward syntax.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2019This book is as awesome as the first five books!
Very interesting, full of excitement and surprises.
Adventures of both men and women who touch
your heart ❤.
I was very impressed with this story and was so
happy that it involved Colton. A very intriguing
storyline!
I hope everyone gets this book as well as the
while series. I'd love to see more of this story
in more books for the series, it's that good!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 13, 2020Loved the entire series. The author has a way of drawing the reader in with character development, suspense, drama, mystery, and romance. I would really like to see this turned into a movie series.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 2, 2019I have loved all of the books by MK McClintock through the years, but although we waited patiently for this book, it was so worth it. I have fallen in love with all of the Gallagher family, their experiences, hardships and enjoyed the love they share with each other. Her readers had hoped she would find love and a lifelong companion for Colton, and in Ainslee ... we did. If you love adventure, romance, thrillers, mysteries, you will find all of these in a MK McClintock book. I truly hope she has a story in the making for Catie!!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2019I've enjoyed books 1>5. Book 6 was such a rehash of the others and actually boring. I skipped thru much of the repetitious parts.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2019MK McClintock is a gem among historical writers. She has another perfect novel in Wild Montana Winds! She has put the words on a page to describe the heart and soul of Montana and it’s magnificent heritage. She has replaced Louis L’Amour in my heart, and that is no easy feat. Please, please, please pick up this, or any of the Gallagher book, and simply enjoy!
