Christmas day sales

It has been said that after opening their new Christmas e-readers, they run to the internet and start buying books.

Post your Christmas Day sales here so we can see if it's true. Then we will have a better idea of what will happen next year. This challenge is open to all time zones, but it would be cool if you would tell us where you are when you post your sales. You don't have to wait until the end of the day, just post away all day long if you like. It'll be fun. Of course some of us will be with family, but don't lie -- you'll slip away to check your sales, I know I will.

Christmas is love, love is reading and reading is sales. Right?

I'm in, I think. It would be good if people posted also what their average sales a day, from say, the last week or two prior, has been, so everyone can see how it compares on average. 12 sales on Xmas day might be GREAT for me but DISMAL for another...so it would be good to know some base figures. The last few days have been weird, with Sat. with above average sales, Sun a little below average for me, and today pratically dead- 2 sales but 1 return, but also 3 borrows. Curious what tomorrow will bring!I am expecting a kindle from Santa, my first so i can't wait to start loaading up on good reads myself.

We did Christmas early here to accommodate various schedules. I got my parents a Kindle for Christmas. We experimented first with a freebie (Jane Eyre), and once my dad ha'd figured out how to download that, he bought a book he'd been wanting... and then said, "Wow. What else can I buy?" By the end of the day, he'd gotten the complete Sherlock Holmes stories free, some other (old, public domain) mystery free, a magazine subscription (paid), and three more paid books. Absolutely thrilled with it. I was watching to see what he thought of prices--my mom got something just because it was 2.99 (a gardening book she'd already wanted), but he seemed to think 9.99 was entirely reasonable (non-fiction). He didn't do any downloading the day we did Christmas, though--he opened it in the evening, and then charged it overnight. It was the next day that he wanted to see what it could do.

So far my own Amazon sales this month are kinda meh. But at Barnes & Noble, this has been my best month ever. Here's to more e-readers under the tree, and more sales in the future to us all!

Good idea.
Nearly 08.00 GMT in Wales and a totally underwhelming zero so far, but it is still early.

Yay! Ten past nine in France and one UK sale just came in.

Although I reckon it was a late report from yesterday because the ranking had gone up overnight.

7:40 here in New England- no sales reported overnight as of 6:15 a.m., which is unusual- but 1st sale of the day just reported! First work, published 11/20- average sales per day for dec by week, 1=3.42, 2=4, 3=5. I count sales anywhere and borrows in those #s and of course subtract the random return (hate those!). Let's see how the next few days go compared to my recent averages for the week- the 1st two days of this week have been slow for me.

So- 7:40 a.m., 1st sale here in NH. Merry Christmas!

5% increase in sales over the last 12 hours or so as far as I can tell. Probably have to wait a few days to get a clearer picture.

Don't know what's going on in England, but they seem to 'get' my work in a way no one else does.
Number 1 for Christmas in my little sub-genre. this has to be something to do with new kindle sales and the prime thing.
Needless to say, it is hardly selling at all anywhere else, but in the last three days it seems to be taking off in my own country, which is what matters most to me, (in a very quiet way) More of a float than a take-off really!

Our borrows are going crazy right now. Since this morning about 7am, EST we have 208 and counting. Must be all the new kindles being ripped open! For sales about 43. Yesterday we did 164 in sales. Our normal average this month has been 10 a day. Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday. Will keep posting. Best of luck to all! (should mention that is for our book, The Underwear Dare!) Our other book, Zoo'd is not doing well at all.

7:30 am in Seattle, 25 US sales, 2 in the UK. I usually sell around 15 overnight, so that is a bit of an upturn. It's a good sign, I think. I'll check back in later, gotta go get that Christmas dinner and hug my great-grandchildren. :o)

My sales have been weak ever since my book was launched back on Dec 4.
However, to my surprise, the book has been on free promotion since this morning and I've quadrupled my sales in a couple of hours. I guess this KDP Select thing really does work sometimes.

Here's a link to my novel and Merry Xmas to you all!

10 new sales on Amazon today (an improvement), 550 on B&N (I just about fainted). My kids' books are really taking off there--I wasn't really expecting that!

I can't believe my little one is still asleep, but I guess I better go get started with the baking.

One sale overnight, but I hadn't had any in several days leading up to the holiday.

Yes, borrows are up. I got 13 borrows on 1 book between 11am and 2pm today. Just checked after another 5 hours and accrued another 45 borrows.

Sales still looking to be at least 6% higher than normal.
