My but it's been strange lately- the last few weeks before the Holiday it seemed my sales each day were mostly overnight. Now there's nothing much happening overnight, but sales late afternoon. Today has been slow for me though- only 2 sales so far. Perhaps tonight will pick up. No big Xmas sales explosion over here yet!

There's a big thing going on about Amazon shutting down Netflix on Christmas Day. I know it took 24 hours to straighten out our Amazon Associate reports, so maybe they're still having problems with all the reports. I think they tried to grow too fast.

I'm offering a series of free days to launch my new book, One Shoe Off, so haven't had any paid sales. But, the free downloads are running way behind last year when I launched my previous book, Great News Town.

I haven't been impressed with christmas day sales for my new book, Meltdown, either- a few, but nothing like I'd expected!

Last Christmas was and remains my best day ever, about 20 sales. This year not a single sale on Christmas Day. Or on the 26th. Or 27th. Or 28th. Very curious. On the other hand, some nice surprises over at B&N.

My sales almost doubled in the last few days, but I also put a few ads out there starting the Sunday before Christmas so it's not easy to tell which factor is the driver.

One other statistic is that my book rankings have been fairly stable except for book#1 of the series http://www.amazon.com/Eden-Plague-Sale-Price-ebook/dp/B008EMKJ6Q/ which has jumped a fair bit. To me this indicates that everyone is selling more books as I am not making "double sales" headway but rather just headway about right for maybe 50% increase.

I looked inside and here is what I saw. Your blurb couldn't be more on target for your product. I refuse to evaluate cover art. (Sorry, just can't bring myself to do it.)

The writing is brisk, but could be even more to the point without losing any necessary content. I only mention this because a plot that moves along without major interruption seems to be your style (at least in this instance). Meaning I think it's your specific intent to keep the action rolling without getting too pulpy about it.

Lol, while I'm on that subject. I tried to read Heinlein's "Number of the Beast" the other day. I realize it's a lampoon, but I just couldn't imagine finishing it. We're talking lethal pulp fiction.

So far this month, I've sold thirteen books. This is way down from last December, at which time I sold 125 books. I believe the problem is with the 'free book" promotions. I've posted before that I believe Kindle should have a "buy one, get one free" promotional strategy instead. Then, we, as independent authors would be making something and so would Amazon. I'm going to give Kindle a little more time to have something positive happen. But, I, like others who have posted believe that the golden days of Kindle are behind us. What a shame! The positive thing is that I sold about five hundred books over the last year. So, I have some good memories. I just hope that the future holds something positive also.:) Happy holidays to everyone!
