    "Love. Life. Death. Freedom." is an excellent read. In the apparently autobiographic story the author describes her trip around the world. The events in the single stations however are painted with a broad brush as the actual focus lies on the four imaginary companions accompanying here: Love, Life, Death and Freedom help her make sense of life, find out what she is looking for on this trip, overcome a stroke of fate which happens in the middle of the trip and become as much her as can possibly be. This original way of telling the story does a great job at distilling a personal growth story spanning years, continents and myriad personal events into a petite treasury of a book, preserving in purity the step stones and obstacles to be taken on the journey to grow in character (or, as the author would put it, to grow in heart).
