About the author

USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR
The author Nathan Goodman currently lives in the United States with his wife. His passions are rooted in writing, sculpture, and all things outdoors: the health of the oceans, the beach, camping, and hiking. Where writing is concerned, the craft had always been lurking just beneath the surface.
In 2013, Goodman had began the formation of The Special Agent Jana Baker Spy-Thriller Series. It quickly became a set of bestselling international terrorist thriller novels.
In the series, Goodman focuses on crafting a strong female lead heroine that his young daughters can look to as a role model.
Today Goodman expresses creativity in the form of sculpture, particularly metal sculpture.

- Reviewed in Australia on 20 June 2017Format: KindleAn Al-Quaeda plot where sleeper terrorists are the CEO and CFO of an American based software company specialising in the petro chemical industry brings Jana Baker into touch with Agent Chuck Stone of the FBI. The NSA has identified a suspect communication from Al-Quaeda directed to the CFO of Petrosoft, the American based software company. Jana Baker has recently been employed by Petrosoft as PA to the CEO and the FBI are looking for someone inside Petrosoft to help then assess and interpret the risk involved.
Jana is convinced to join the team and the story unfolds with her using her inbuilt skills to obtain information that saves the day. Jana displays skills and nous above her age of 22.
Well written, with characters well developed this is an enjoyable read recommended for the action and intrigue that Nathan Goodman builds.
Moses.
- Reviewed in Australia on 12 March 2017Format: KindleVerified PurchaseProtocol One has been a total delight to read. In fact I read it in a matter of hours and loved it. Not too much blood
and thunder, just good sensible writing and planning. The characters each have a job to do and they do it very well.
Jana Baker being the main character in the Protocol series, all of which I have followed and have not been disappointed.
Some books are really over the top with their characters being able to take on car loads of bad guys when they are
full of bullets and broken bones. Well, if you are looking for that kind of story forget it it with the Nathan Goodman
books. He writes with passion and sensibility and has done an excellent job with this series. If you have never read
a Nathan Goodman book I think now is the time to try. I promise you will not be disappointed.
- Reviewed in Australia on 12 March 2017Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI have read the other books in the series and loved them. Prequels are always tricky but Nathan has nailed it in this case. These are good solid realistic thrillers that are easy to read and carry you along with them.

5.0 out of 5 stars “I want a weapon and I want to be trained how to use it.”
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseJana Baker just wants to do well when she heads for her interview with Petrosoft. Getting roped into an FBI investigation would seem to be a needless distraction, or maybe even dangerous.
Jana has no FBI training. No Krav Maga, handgun or sniper experience, counter-surveillance savvy, or high-speed driving ability. The FBI is well intentioned, but it quickly realizes that it will be unable to provide the level of protection Jana was promised. What happens next makes for a very good read.
The rating is kind of a 4.5 star rounded-up. But I also bought the Jana Baker bundle of the first four novels. Nathan Goodman is well worth checking out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great insightful prequel that explains Jana's motivations
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseExcellent prequel that gives great background to the Jana character and her motivations. The book explore how Jana become an agent and the reasons. A thoroughly enjoyable read. Nathan Goodman delivers again. I read this book after the others in the Protocol series.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great introduction to an endearing heroine
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis is the book where the intrepid Jana Baker is introduced to the readers. She has been a brilliant student, has aced all her exams and has landed a great job a an executive assistant to the CEO of a big corporation. This is her dream come true till she is made aware by the fatherly FBI Special Agent Stone that he is actually working in a nest of vipers. The FBI beseeches her to act as their inside source to get a grip on the murky goings on in the corporation where Jana works and displaying a rare chutzpah she not only agrees but also tremendous mental strength even in the most trying circumstances. A great introduction to an endearing heroine. Hope she keeps shining for a few more sequels. That I had unfortunately already read the second book of the series before I picked up this book did not quite distract the attention and I still tremendously enjoyed being introduced to Jana Baker whom I had already met (well, kind of) !

5.0 out of 5 stars Very exciting thrilling and suspenseful
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis was a story that kept me on the edge of my toes wondering how things would turn out. It was a very late night read I didn’t want to put it down. I really loved Jana she is strong, stands on her own two feet as she goes undercover in her new job. I really enjoyed how the story unfolds giving some very intense reading with lots of action and is a very fast pace full of excitement with hold your breath moments. I really enjoyed reading how Jane became an FBI agent we have seen her in action before but this goes more into her past and what drives her. It might be a short read but do not plan on starting it in the evening you won’t be able to put it down. If you are looking for a thrilling read that keeps you invested this is the one for you.
