Oh my friends you are absolutely not prepared for book two of the Tricky Magic series! I was stoked to receive an ARC of this book because I have not stopped thinking about our two main characters since reading book one. This book picks up right where we left off in Tricky Magic except it's bigger, better, and there is so much happening that I couldn't put the book down. Seriously, I think I finished it in two days because every spare minute I was reading to find out what happens to our beloved main characters.
Their chemistry is off the charts, their development both together and separately was just perfectly done by Lexi, and the plot continued to thicken. This is a book I'll be thinking about for days after I've finished it and one I plan on reading over and over because it blew my socks off!

Thank you to the author for gifting me an advanced copy of Tricky Princess! This was an incredible sequel that I did not want to set down.
I really loved the expanding of the world. It wasn’t overwhelming but still was in depth. The descriptions were so vivid and I felt like I was really there. I can’t wait to see even more in future books.
The beginning with Ros and Ellea being separated killed me, but I also loved the new characters we met and that reunion was worth it. The beginning gave of Queen of Shadows vibes with the separation but also the set up for future plot points. I definitely met some new favorite characters this book. They were all so unique and well rounded, and not just filler characters.
I had so much fun seeing Ellea and Ros’s relationship grow and all the trouble they got up to. They went through a bit of a rough patch, but made up in their typical fashion. The banter in this book is top notch. I can’t wait to see even more of them!
I did feel like some parts of this book were a little jumpy and would have also liked to see a bit more plot and action scenes mixed in. The fluff scenes were so great and I love me some fluff but, at times I felt like there could have been a bit more expanding of the plot.
Overall this was a marvelous sequel! I loved how the ending was action packed and then that epilogue left room for expanding in other books and was shocking. This series is one I highly recommend. There’s an incredible FMC, a broody MMC, and other great characters, plus some super cool magic and supernaturals!
