Jerry Ahern (Axel Kilgore) is a science fiction and action author best known for his post-apocalyptic survivalist series The Survivalist. These pulp novels have sold more than 3.5 million copies worldwide. He also authored the gut-wrenching, action-packed series, They Call Me the Mercenary under the pseudonym Axel Kilgore. Along with his wife, Sharon, he is co-author of over eighty internationally-published novels. Originally born in Chicago a long time ago, Sharon Ahern met her future husband and co-writer, Jerry Ahern, on the very first day of High School, and they became friends for life. They eventually married and had two wonderful kids, Jason and Samantha, and five beautiful grandchildren. Sharon began her writing career in the public relations department of Illinois Bell Telephone and stringing for a local newspaper. Always an avid researcher—Sharon was always eager to do book reports and term papers—she was happy to pull out the Britannica and become an instant expert on whatever information Jerry needed for a story, whether a particular time in history or facts concerning a far away place. Now the musty volumes have been replaced with the internet. She has interviewed people on a wide range of topics such as Voodoo practices and biker gangs. Sharon is also a professional photographer, her works having been published in magazines throughout the world. Bob Anderson is the author of Sarge, What Now? and co-author on The Survivalist series (starting with Book #30) in collaboration with Jerry and Sharon Ahern. Bob is a fine writer and has published books such as TAC Leader: What Honor Requires, Anderson's Rules and Grandfather Speaks. He is an expert on weaponry and military skills and is an accomplished public speaker. Bob retired as a Chief Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force Reserve with over 32 years of service.

    "Deep Star" is the 33rd Survivalist novel, and the fourth by Bob Anderson and Sharon Ahern. Jerry Ahern had begun # 30, "The Inheritors of the Earth" and provided some notes and verbalized guidance on where ha was planning on taking "The Survivalist Series," after the long hiatus.

    Following events from "The Quisling Covenant," the reader will witness the kidnapping of John Rourke and the reason behind this act is crucial to future Survivalist books. Rourke does not appear often in "Deep Star" but when he does, it behooves the reader to take notice of all what he learns while in captivity.

    The book continues with another kidnapping, involving the Rourke Family and it too result in a far-reaching consequence, but as earth-shaking as John's.

    Events in New Germany shake the very foundation of the Rourke Family as well as the continuing battle against Neo-Nazi extremists. Throw in a probable collusion between hard-line Russian Communists and aliens with nefarious plans for humanity and a growing pandemic, and the good guys are with their backs to the wall, but as ever, ready for the long haul.

    The Deep Star facility is finally found and its secrets revealed by book's end. To what avail?

    Bob and Sharon continue to write fast-moving post-apocalyptic novels that grab the reader from the opening page until the usual cliff-hanging conclusion. The adventures of the Rourke Family continue, with no signs of abating. Thank God!
