Exciting and suspenseful story! I was impressed with this book and definitely recommend it. The story is well written. The word choices are excellent. They demonstrate the richness and diversity of the English language, and the author's familiarity with human quirkiness. The anticipation of the next events makes the story exciting and suspenseful. The author seems to have a grasp of women's feelings and sensitivities which is very touching. He captures the emotions of the characters in a very realistic way. I look forward to reading the 2nd book of the trilogy.

Biografía del autor

An Italian American born in New York and living in Milan, Italy. As a sci-fi fan I enjoy interesting stories that fire the imagination. I love the genres of science-fiction, action/adventure, and thrillers. I lose myself reading compelling novels and have taken inspiration to create characters and expound my own stories from being captivated by reading series such as Foundation, Dune, and The Expanse. 

My journey to creative writing just happened. As ideas found their way into my mind, I began visualizing scenes and the people in them. As my imagination added detail and depth, I put my fingers to my keyboard and started writing. Creativity became a cherished hobby at first. 

Optimistic views of the future through art always interest me as I believe ours will be a bright one.

    This is an awesome story about life in a sealed colony where no one has seen the sky in centuries. Gift is a hopeful character who starts questioning everything when she uncovers a big conspiracy. The worldbuilding is super detailed, and the twists kept me hooked. It’s got suspense, emotion, and a strong main character. If you like dystopian stories with drama and surprises, you’ll love this book! Definitely recommend it.

    The way it switches tenses, it could stand a good edit... but name a book where that is not true.

    I was immediately drawn to the story - a peculiar blend of Logan's Run meets The Island where society is regulated to a 24/7 existence in gigantic domed facilities. The day-to-day life is regulated with ages where one is allowed to Union and etc.

    The story is also coming from a confirmed perspective. The author definitely knows what's going on but that action, that perspective has not been cleanly conveyed to the audience and I often felt like I was being left out of the fun.

    As a storyteller, I am always rooting for characters out of the mainstream and there are a few in this story. but it seems that the only places where they were pressed to be unique was in their names, the foods they ate, and the bits of language they used. People of different countries have some fascinating differences between them. I wasn't getting any of that from the pages.

    As a jump off point for a series, I am hopeful. There are a number of avenues available to the author and he seems genuinely unafraid to explore! It could use some work, but it is a book worth reading!

    What I really enjoyed about this book is how well the author builds a rich, immersive world in a sealed colony two centuries in the future. The setting is vividly described, and the story’s pace is perfect, with enough twists and suspense to keep me eagerly turning the pages. Gift Ojo is a wonderfully complex protagonist—her internal struggle between optimism and the harsh truths about her colony makes for an engaging read. I also loved the theme of transformation and the moral dilemmas Gift faces. This book is perfect for fans of dystopian and sci-fi stories who enjoy a well-paced plot, deep character development, and a touch of mystery.
