Bestselling and award-winning author James M. Corkill, is a Veteran, and retired Federal Firefighter from Washington State, USA. He was an electronic technician and studied mechanical engineering in his spare time before eventually becoming a firefighter for 32-years and retiring. He began writing in 1997, and was fortunate to meet the famous horror writer Hugh B. Cave, who became his mentor. He now lives in the Appalachian Mountains of western North Carolina.

    Pandora’s Eyes is the fifth novel in the Alex Cave series. James Corkill has once again put together an intriguing story about betrayal, bravery and high adventure. Alex Cave works for the National Security Agency with Martin Donner as his superior. Together with his best friend Okana, the two set out to save earth from an almost certain extinction. A large cast of characters provides for some exciting developments. The danger now comes from a spaceship hidden deep underneath the Artic ice. Terry Harden, who works for the Nordvulk Reykjavic (Nordic Volcanological Centre) discovers the UFO and that discovery sets into train a chain of events that threatens to engulf the entire world. Inside this UFO are aliens who have been in stasis for some 180 milion years. They are controlled by an artificial intelligence (AI) who calls itself Pandora. It wakes up a beautiful woman with blue eyes and, as long as she is in a line of sight with the craft, AI will control her. AI intends to use her for eventual negotiations. Alex and Okana soon find out that IA’s mission is to colonise earth and that genetically inferior people will be killed. This means that 97% of the earth population who have brown eyes, are now in mortal danger.
    One of the four alien alian artifacts previously found is in orbit around earth and its signal is the one that was detected by the spacecraft. It starts to use this artifact (called SV1) to affect the weather globally. The race is now on to capture the device in orbit, and at the same time prevent AI from killing off most of the world’s population. There seemingly is no way that the ‘genetically inferior’ people can be saved from a certain death. Can the SV1 be retrieved and the world be saved from this terrible danger? You may be surprised how the ruthless logic of AI plays out.

    This is another very well written thriller featuring Alex Cave, our famous and beloved Geologist. This book is the fifth one on the series. Although they are stories that can hold on their own independently, in a couple of times there are references to situations that happened in the previous books. So I would recommend that you read the previous books in the order they were published, so you can savor this one better. The sequence is: "Dead Energy", followed by "Cold Energy", and then "Read Energy", "Gravity" and finally "Pandora's Eyes". You will not regret it. Excellent and very entertaining reading, intelligent plots and very enjoyable reading.
    In this particular book, one of the four alien artifacts that were found in previous books is in orbit, and was modified to collect space debris that is flying in orbit of Earth. When this device was activated, an Artificial Intelligence named Pandora that was dormant detected the device. The crew of this alien spaceship that was sleeping for millions of years is awakened. They contact humans and the adventure really begins to pick up. Alex Cave and his best friend Okana face the most challenging situation they ever had.
    This is a great book and I recommend it to the permanent library of all science-fiction readers. They will not be disappointed.

    This thrilling novel is action-packed from cover to cover. Each book in this series is stand-alone. However, I highly recommend each book in the series because they are truly dynamic! Millions of years ago, several alien airships had come to Earth and mostly are buried in ice. Leave it to Alex Cave to discover another spacecraft … but this time he's in for a big surprise. There is life on this one, very similar to humans as exhibited by a beautiful woman with special powers … her name is Pandora. Here, again, Alex Cave is destined to save our world. This book is packed with surprises, it is riveting to read and one can't even take a break while reading it. Author James Corkill is truly blessed with a wonderful talent to attract and please his readers with gripping sci-fi stories. I recommend readers enjoy all his remarkable novels.

    This was my day to clean house, that didn't happen. Once I started reading I had to finish it. Page by page I watched the time and kept reading. The action was fast, the characters unpredictable, but true to type. The science was a bit iffy, but consistent with sci-fi plots. Some might think that it borrowed things from other stories or movies, but I didn't care. The author mixed and stirred them up to make them his own.

    I would recommend that a person perhaps didn't start on the fifth book in the series as I did. But even with that I was able to read along and gather enough information from the skimpy review to catch on. I hope to hear more form this author!

    Pandora's Eyes was a good as the other 4.. I liked the way you brought back past characters and fit them into this story. a great Sci-Fi story and once again Alex saves the world with the help of his faithful friends. Glad I have blue eyes.
