5つ星のうち5.0 A real box of chocolates - so many stories you're bound to find some you'll like
Amazonで購入This is a collection of short stories chosen from entrants to the excellent Atlantis Short Story Competition - one of the very few competitions that takes the time to provide detailed author feedback. The book is divided into three sections.
The first is for the stories. They come thick and fast - there're definitely a lot of dysfunctional families, not to mention people with very serious world-view issues. The fiction is peppered heartfelt true stories, creating a weird and effective counterbalance between the imagined and the experienced.
There are so many stories it feels a bit like swiping right and left with literature. Like a story, keep reading. Don't like it? Swipe left - there's another just a thousand words a way. With such variety in style and story, you'll find plenty to keep you interested.
The second section gets a bit weird. Here we have some stories with pictures. Most of them didn't work for me personally, but I did enjoy the left turn at the traffic lights: it enhances the feeling of variety and choice in the collection. Finally (after a really creepy story about bones), there is a section describing resources and other places you can go to find stories, support and even radio plays.
What this book radiates is a love of writing and a love of writers. If you're interested in reading something new, in dipping in and out of a huge collection of stories, and even getting some useful info at the end, this collection if for you.

5つ星のうち5.0 A large variety of subjects and styles of writing. Definitely worth a read!
Amazonで購入I don't normally read short stories, but I must say I enjoyed all the stories in this anthology which made a pleasant change from reading a novel. My personal favourite was 'Lilies' by Alice Lam, a gripping story which I highly recommend!

5つ星のうち4.0 Great variety, good read.
Amazonで購入This is a collection of about 30 short stories, each written by a different writer, each having something interesting to tell. All the stories are written with the intensity of a person who wants to share her (mostly) thoughts, feelings and in some intances true(?) story. Most authors are quite proficient in doing it, so it is an enjoyable read.

5つ星のうち5.0 Sort of Like a Word Tour
Amazonで購入Each story has its own style and that kept me interested to read the next story. I liked that the authors were from different parts of the world and that also made the stories interesting. Most of the authors are from Australia and so I felt I learned a bit about their homeland, too. All-in-all the judges picked winners. Enjoy.
