My Inventions: An Autobiography (English Edition) Kindle版
THIS IS A NEW EDITION of the famous series of articles by Nikola Tesla that appeared in The Electrical Experimenter magazine in 1919. Gathered together, they are unique in providing a glimpse into Tesla’s mind and his private thoughts. It tells about the man, his motivations and the values that he held.
The articles have been fully edited, and reformatted, and new illustrations have been added throughout. This is the best version of this text that is available.
Reviews
“Awesome book. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in the life and works of Nikola Tesla. Not only is it an invitation to one of the greatest minds of the last century but a chance to get to know Tesla as a person, as the book is filled with anecdotes of his early life."
“This book was nothing short of inspirational. I am in no way an electrical expert but this book makes me want to start a career in electrical engineering. After reading this informative autobiography of one of the world greatest inventors, I started researching ways to learn basic electrical components and how they work hands-on"
"If you know who Tesla was and his contribution to the civilized world of electronics then I do not need to say any more. This is not a technical book but an overview of his life and background material for his basic contributions."
"Genius, genius, genius....the greatest electrical engineer who ever lived. Cannot get enough of his work. This book is a must read for anyone in the electrical engineering profession. He is responsible for so much of what we take for granted today including our whole system for generation and distribution of AC electricity. Thank you Tesla, and thank you to the publishers for perpetuating his legacy."

As an avid reader its handy to have your book collection with you. Some books are lacking images but hay that’s why we have imaginations. Overall very pleased.

5つ星のうち4.0 Definitely worth reading
フォーマット: Kindle版 (電子書籍)Amazonで購入I liked it. Would have liked it to be longer and more in depth, but it is his autobiography and he wrote it as he saw fit.
Definitely worth buying and reading to understand how he thought and invented new technologies. I would have purchased it in book form if I'd known the kindle pictures would be so hard to see, even magnified.
Tesla does not make mention of his obsession with telepathic doves or aliens (something that happened to him later in life.) That
would have been interesting to read, I feel. Allegedly he reported to friends that his invention ideas were transmitted to him via telepathy from these sources, including his earlier inventions (Tesla coil, etc.) I suspect he was predisposed to a type of neurological illness similar to the gentleman in "A Beautiful Mind" who also, I am given to understand, felt many of his ideas came from outside sources. This type of disassociation may have allowed both of them to access and understand involved mathematical and engineering concepts in a savant-type way. Despite how it came about, they both undeniably gave us invaluable mathematical and physics principles that have been life-changing and useful to society to this very day. Tesla invented alternating current, as you know, as opposed to Edison's stubborn determination to stick to direct current. He is not vitriolic toward Edison in this book, which I found more than gracious considering other material I read on the great "alternating current vs. direct current" debate. I recommend this tome, but in book form, rather than kindle, so you can see the photos. diagrams and newspaper articles with greater clarity.

5つ星のうち5.0 I'm a big fan of the neurotic Mr. Tesla
フォーマット: Kindle版 (電子書籍)Amazonで購入Nikola Tesla is one of my history crushes. I'm a huge science nerd and anything about Tesla is entertaining to me given he was the father of so many inventions that we still utilize today. Thomas Edison may get more fanfare than neurotic, eccentric and phobic Nik, but Nikola was truly the individual who pioneered so many of the electrical items that we use today. Thomas Edison just "commercialized" them more, so he got more wide-spread approval.
I will warn you that these are the autobiographical notes of Mr. Tesla so they are done in his own words. This book is very data heavy and there are A LOT of technical terms that most people aren’t going to understand unless you’ve studied them and/or have read a lot of material on the subject. That being said, it really feels like you’re listening to Tesla explain his inventions and visions. I could almost picture myself sitting in a parlor with him, smoking a cigar and drinking some whiskey whilst we discussed the implications of such uses for his different inventions.
I would highly recommend to anyone who is already a Tesla fan and has an existing knowledge of the sciences used by Tesla. If this is your first foray into his work, you might want to look elsewhere.

5つ星のうち5.0 Brilliant
フォーマット: Kindle版 (電子書籍)Amazonで購入Nikola Tesla was a genius ahead of his time, with a strange understanding of birds. His writing is just as impressive as his work with alternating currents and left me entertained wanting to read more. He is sincere, witty, and delightfully entertaining describing his early life, and his journey to America. My only gripe with this book is the length, as it is not very long. Tesla is one of my favorite authors and I wish he devoted more time to writing.
