Unfortunantely cannot recommend. I was excited for this because I am taking a Syriac class based on the Serto script, and this seemed an inexpensive supplement that could reduce how much I would need to print out. However, it is more of a Syriac letter-themed coloring book than it is a learning tool. The letters are not to scale with one another and there is no indication of where the letters should sit in relation to the line or to one another, even though in Syriac, letter size and position are important ("A" should be twice as tall as "z," and "G" should be mostly under the line, not sitting on it).
Syriac is a cursive-like script, but on the one page in this book where more than one letter is together, they are drawn incorrectly (imagine an English cursive handwriting book that never shows how letters connect, and shows a lowercase e as being the same height as a lowercase b... same problem here). Serto Syriac consonants have up to 3 written forms (some quite different from one another) depending on where they sit, to the right or left of another consonant in the same word, but this book only shows 1 form for each letter, so it isn't even comprehensive of the alphabet.
The book illustrations are pretty to look at, and if you want to tear out the coloring pages to decorate something or color them in as a hobby or mindfulness practice, this may work for you. The "fun facts" are, indeed, fun. For actually learning to write Syriac, I'll return this and stick to printable practice pages.
