To Touch You (Mates Collection Book 4) Kindle Edition
By not relying on anyone except himself, Salvatore Rossi escaped a dead-end existence and reached the height of corporate success. But just when he has everything he always wanted, fate throws Salvatore a challenge he can’t solve alone and a young wolf shifter comes to his rescue.
Since childhood, Yoram Smith’s family was certain he would grow to become Alpha and save their beloved pack from its slow demise. When the time comes for a new leader, Yoram is forced to juggle his duty to care for a splintering pack with his duty to care for an absent mate, and his own strength suffers.
Being turned into a vampire didn’t alter Salvatore’s life philosophy: if you don’t rely on anyone, nobody can let you down. But when the boy who saved his life becomes a man who needs his help, the icy vampire must find his humanity.

About the author

Cardeno C. - CC to friends - is a hopeless romantic who wants to add a lot of happiness and a few "awwws" into a reader's day. Writing is a nice break from real life as a corporate type and volunteer work with gay rights organizations. Cardeno's stories range from sweet to intense, contemporary to paranormal, long to short, but they always include strong relationships and walks into the happily-ever-after sunset.
Heartwarming Stories. Strong Relationships. Forever Love.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 January 2018I purchased both the ebook, AND audio copy of this book (November 2017)
This is book 4 in The Mates Series, and the last one. You don't need to have read the other three, but there is some overlap with books one, Wake Me Up Inside and book 3, In Your Eyes, so there may be spoilers, sorta, kinda.
Yoram Smith is 7 years old when he first meets Salvatore Rossi, and he knows nothing but the pull of his scent. Sal is, in Yoram's eyes, his friend. It takes a turning of Sal to vampire and over 20 years before Sal finally admits that Yoram is his mate.
I LOVED this final installment in the Mates series! I really did. But I can't split the narration from the book, so the lines might be a bit blurred on this one.
I read this book, in December 2017, and I was going through a rough patch, so didn't actually write a review for it, then the audio came through the blog for review, and I had credits available, so I grabbed it. SO glad I did!
I loved Charlie David's narration, his voices especially. Yoram is 7 when we first meet him, and I was curious how David would change his voice as he grew. Nailed that one, I tell ya! At7, at 14 and as a full groan Yoram, his voice is the same but different, if that makes any sense? I could tell it was Yoram at every step of the way.
And trust me, it's a very long way these two took to finally get together! Sal doesn't fully understand the workings of being a vampire, he finds no joy in feeding and certainly not socialising with them, but he HAS to feed. Until the blood turns up on his doorstep, and THAT blood is different. Takes him a while to figure out where it's coming from!
I loved that Zev and Jonah ( book 1) and Samuel and Korban (book 3) play a part here, but I especially loved that Ethan and Miguel are a HUGE part of this book. When I read this, I could hear the voices of these guys but they weren't right, not at all. So it was great to be able to catch up with them here.
I loved that, once Sal finally dug his head out the sand and returned to Yoram, he was all in, totally and utterly.
Like I said, I can't really split the narration from the book, so
5 stars all round!

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 December 2017Cardeno c books are amazing. Not too long but going into detail at the same time I would definitely regiment reading this romance

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 May 2017I loved this series, but unfortunately this was my least favourite of the 4 books. I appreciate what the author was trying to do with the estranged mate storyline but it took me well over half way to have any empathy for or even begin to like Sals character. I understand that Yoram was very young in their few early encounters but Sal appeared all but indifferent to him and on occasion downright nasty. I respect that the writer did not wish to describe any inappropriate sexual feelings from Sal due to the age of Yoram but surely an insight into his private thoughts would have revealed some confusing emotions drawing him to the young shifter. However he comes across as completely unaffected by the true mate bond. Between this and their relatively miserable existence gave the first half of the book a rather depressing dreary theme. Sals sudden change of heart came about rather abruptly, creating little suspense, and then the end seemed rather anti climatic and rushed. The intimate scenes between Sal and Yoram were the highlights, erotic and well written, it's just a shame that the rest of the story didn't have the suspense and ability to grab you like the 3 previous, very touching stories in the series which were all 5 stars.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 June 2017Another great read. Really enjoyed the storyline and the characters were just great. Really hoping there's more to come my new favourite author
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 July 2017I guess this is the end of the series, a series I thoroughly enjoyed and devoured at supersonic speed.
I didn't think Sal would ever make a comeback, at least not for me. I was so disgusted with him that it's a miracle Cardeno could make him likable again, but he did and Sal really came into his own. Owned his mistakes too. I love that in a character.
Though this wasn't the best book in the series, it was the one that wound all the previous tales up into a nice happy bow. It was great seeing how the plots from previous stories played out from other view points. It really linked these 3 packs for me. Of course, it was also fun seeing old favourites like Ethan and Miguel, Jonah and Zev. Sadly Samuel doesn't make an appearance. I'd have like to see if he mellowed anymore. Korban (pre-Sam) does make an appearance and you really feel for him (especially if you've read their story).
That said, I'm not sure this book would make a lot of sense to you if you haven't read the others first. There is way too much history that you'd need to really enjoy this story. So it's definitely not capable of being a standalone.
One more thing, the wonderful injection of humour that Cardeno writes into these books, sometimes in the most severe moments, is a stroke of genius. Toby literally made me laugh out loud.
Really this is the perfect feel good end to a feel good series. A joy to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars More vampire shifter mates
I think this book takes the spot of favourite in the series besides book 1.
I just love Yoram and how sure he is of what Sal is to him from such a young age and I loves to see Ethan and Miguel watching over Ethans relatives and pack.
This book was a great way to tie the previous stories together and end in a wonderful book with a great pair.

Took a while for the story to pickup. The premise is good and the story is sweet. Worth a read.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a Beauty!!
What a great read, I just couldn't put it down. Really enjoyed young Yoram and loved him even more as an adult. I couldn't wait for Yorams and Sals HEA, they had to work hard to get there and to keep it. But it was so worth it. It was lovely to see the other characters from the other Novels in this series and how they're all connected. Cardeno C. rounded up this series just beautifully. Wonder if there's anymore in the series😉😊

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent addition to the series
At the risk of sounding repetitive this is great series and book four is a welcome addition. It's hard to say that both MC's are likeable but together they complement each other and the story works. Like others, I found Sal to be shallow, selfish and generally unpleasant. However, he's a vampire and that is true to character. I thought his realisation about his true mate was a bit rushed at the end and didn't come across as an epiphany moment. However, the writing as always was solid and the editing good (no obvious spelling and grammar issues). The plot is interesting and engaging. Highly recommended read.
