    Seriously so amazing!!! I’m obsessed and can’t wait for book 2.
    This book had incredible world building everything was so imaginable and just plays like a movie in your head!
    There is witches, wolven, demons, familiars, vampires!
    Ellea is a witch (a powerful trickster) who is learning to control her powers and has a dark troubled past, shes never fit in and people don’t like her, she then goes to her family cabin in Glenover where she meets Ros shadow wielding, insanely hot Ros, he too knows family struggles. At the beginning both are unsure of each other so makes for lots of tension, sexual tensions, magic and fights… an epic combination 😂
    I love these characters so much both are so different yet similar and just fit perfectly together!
    One of the main things I loved is how It’s fast paced then switches to slow burn I just loved how it was done, at the beginning of the book Ellea has her own little reverse harem going on with 3 guys? it’s fast paced and straight to the smutty goodness then when she meets Ros it’s a slow burn and just makes it extra spicy 🥵 now let me tell you when these two get together it’s magical (see what I did there 😂) and when Ros brings his shadows out to play it is insanely hot!!
    I love the secondary characters too everyone is just so great, Devon and Sam I just love them! And I billy and Ellea are sweet yet hilarious together

    This book has it all amazing characters, brilliant world building, suspense, action, surprises, tension and the best smut!!!
    The cliffhanger killed me tho I need to know what happens like now pleasssssse 😂

    This was one of the most addictive magical reads!

    We follow the story of Ellea, a trickster witch still learning to control her powers. Haunted by her parents past she decides to take haven in the town she visited as a child- Glenover.

    Enter Rosier...

    🤩🔥 He is my new obsession. He too has a troubled past, but together they learn about themselves as well as each other.

    Their relationship is anything but tame! Full of sarcasm, banter, fighting and sex. And oh did I mention SHADOW PLAY😏

    The story was the perfect blend of plot and spiciness, with some amazing side characters. I can't wait for what happens in book two.

    Ellea is a trickster witch whose nightmares plagued by visions of her future - so she moves to Glendale to take a break from her life and the prying eyes of Halifax. Only to find herself confronted with Ros, a grumpy flannel wearing man who lives within walking distance. The book follows Ellea owning her magic, facing her nightmares, and letting her walls down.

    The found family in this book is what really make it for me - the characters live in my brain rent-free, and reading the book made me heart full and me feel all warm inside. Sam, a wolven alpha and Ros' bestie; Devon, a witch with excitable puppy vibes; and Billy, Ellea's familiar, really make this book unforgettable for me 💖

    That, and Ros and Ellea... Ellea is powerful, owns her sexuality, generally kicks butt ❤️‍🔥 Ros is grumpy and delicious with shadow magic... the pair go from wanting to fight each other (violently) to - well, you know - and Ros sets the bar high when it comes to dating.

    I loved Tricky Magic - the plot, the characters, the world building, the spice (there is a hefty helping of spice!), the found family... 💖 the series will always have a huge place in my heart and on my shelves.

    Thank you to Lexi Campbell for allowing me to read the ARC for the Tricky Magic re-release.

    Tricky Magic follows Ellea, a witch who possesses seer and trickster magic. Following an incident in her home town, Ellea goes to stay in her family’s cabin in the supernatural town of Glenover with her familiar, Billy. During her stay she meets Ros, who senses her power and tries to keep Glenover safe. Over the course of the book Ellea makes friends and foe and begins to learn more about her trickster magic.

    The story is dual-POV and slow/medium paced. The magic system and fantasy world are straightforward and there isn’t any information-dumping which makes the book easy to read and not overwhelming. The characters are well developed but there is definitely room for more in the sequel. The book also ends on a cliffhanger which leaves you eager to read the sequel.

    I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. I really liked the main characters and the side characters and I thought the magic system was good. I thought this book did a great job of setting the scene and giving details which I think will be important in the next book. I personally would’ve enjoyed a little more action and a little bit more of a build-up to the ending and the cliffhanger. I also didn’t read the original version of Tricky Magic so I can’t comment on the changes that were made, however, I thought this was a great read and I’m excited to see what happens in Tricky Princess.

    Tricky Magic had been on my tbr for a while, but when it was added to Kindle Unlimited it immediately went up and I was tempted to just start it. I’m so glad I decided to because this story and these characters are amazing!

    This book was hot from chapter 2 and I knew there was some steam, but did not expect it so soon and I loved it. Ellea did annoy me a bit in the beginning, I still loved her though, but as she grew throughout the story and started to understand herself, I enjoyed her character a lot more.

    Ugh Ros, a new favorite book boyfriend for sure. Shadows, fire, and sweet too, the perfect combo. I liked seeing how even being over 1500 years old, when he met Ellea, and a little before, he had some amazing character development.

    I really enjoyed this world and magic system and want to know more about it! Also, want to shoutout my favs Sam and Devon, I love them and want more of their story, plus they’re just cute!

    I definitely recommend giving Tricky Magic a read. It has hot witches, wolves, and demons, plus cool magic. I can’t wait for book 2, especially after that ending!

    UPDATED VERSION REVIEW:
    I absolutely loved how just a few things were added/changed, but it made the world building more clear and the writing felt cleaner. I also liked how the changes shifted the plot just a bit so there was a bit more of a fantasy element to it and had me even wanting book 2 even more!

    I absolutely LOVED this book! It honestly didn't feel like a debut novel. Third person isn't normally a POV I like, but I found that I quite enjoyed it with this book and it wasn't at all confusing.
    The world building was great and I really enjoyed learning about the magic system (especially with Ellea as well).

    Ellea is such a badass. I love how strong she is at the start of the book, but you also get to see her growth throughout of letting people in and accepting help. Her relationship with Billy was so good! Billy is so sassy but loves Ellea so much. The way she protects her is amazing! I loved that coffee shop scene!!

    I'm 100% a proud Shadow Smutling and Ros and his shadows own me!! Seriously, he is amazing. I loved his "touch her and you die" vibes, and the way he was a complete softy with Ellea (after deciding not to unalive her obvs)

    The side characters in this book were soooo good. Aforementioned Billy, then Garm, Sam and Devon. I honestly can't decide who I loved most. I'm looking forward to reading the Novella for Billy & Garm, I can't wait to read more on them!
    Sam and Devon had an amazing relationship. I also loved how supportive they were of Ellea and helped her to open up, allow others to help her and see that not everyone is like those in the city.

    Lexi does not hold back on the spice in this book and I am here for it! Straight off the bat in the first few chapters we get some seriously good smut. I love how Ellea is written as someone who is not afraid to be herself in any form, but especially sexually. So many books write the FMC as inexperienced, shy, or even embarrassed about it, and it was so refreshing to have a FMC who was 100% comfortable with herself there.
    The shadow smut in the woods was soooo good. Probably one of my favourite spicey scenes I've ever read! I cannot wait for more of it in book 2 (I'm manifesting more shadow smut here!!)

    I'm so excited for book 2, especially after the way this one ends!
