Zombies are So Dead as a Genre: A Nat 1 Anthology Kindle Edition
This anthology brings together the darkest, most chilling stories of the undead from lovers of the genre; each tale explores the different facets of the zombie mythos—from the grotesque reanimation of the dead to the slow, inevitable collapse of society. You’ll encounter apocalyptic wastelands, sinister experiments, and personal tragedies that cut deeper than the bite of any walking corpse. These are not just stories of survival but of fear—fear that lingers, fear that claws at your mind long after you’ve turned the last page. This anthology promises to sink its teeth into your imagination, ensuring sleepless nights and a newfound terror of what lies beyond the grave.
OK, OK, OK, HOLD UP. JUST STOP.
Really? Let's face it—zombies are so last apocalypse. They’ve shuffled their way through countless books, movies, and TV shows, and frankly, they are pretty much dead as a genre. So, here’s the deal: this anthology could have featured another horde of brain-eaters, but we figured you'd rather read something a little more… lively. After all, what’s scarier than a slow-moving corpse? Pretty much everything. That's why this anthology skips the shambling and gives you nightmares with fresh horrors you haven’t seen a thousand times before. You’re welcome.
No zombies. No groaning, decaying clichés. Just pure, heart-stopping terror* from start to finish. So go ahead, crack open the book—unless, of course, you were really hoping for more "braaains." In which case, we’re sorry (but also, not really), it’s not our fault that
ZOMBIES ARE SO DEAD AS A GENRE

About the author

A lifelong lover of all things Sci-Fi/Fantasy, B.S. Roberts (he/him) devotes his time to the genre by reading, watching, listening to, and creating everything that he possibly can in the genre. He prefers stories that include less-represented characters not cut out from the same mold and strives to create works representing all walks of life.
He has a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts with minors in history and behavioral studies, a master’s in Intradisciplinary Studies focusing on folklore and ethnography, and a graduate certificate in digital curation.
To break up the time, he also paints with both oils and acrylics, draws with pencil and Sharpie, and dabbles in photography. When not indulging in magic, futuristic technology, or the arts, he makes a living as a museum curator and an administrative assistant at the University of Maine at Augusta. When schedules allow, he plays pen and paper RPGs and board games.
He has short stories and poetry published in various magazines and literary journals online and in print, including From the Depths, In Parentheses, antiLang, What Rough Beast, and more.
B.S. Roberts lives in Maine with his wife, daughter, tortoise, silver pheasants, and cats. You can check out his current and upcoming projects by visiting him at www.BSRoberts.com
