Wings of Death: Kingdom of Angels Book 1 Paperback – April 16, 2024
Purchase options and add-ons
Becoming a guardian angel is daunting enough, but being bound to protect a scorchingly attractive human with a forgotten power that could destroy us both? Yeah, it's worse than I imagined.
The problem? Kyle has no idea what makes him so dangerous, or where his dark and brooding alpha energy comes from. None of us do—yet. But the ruthless angels of Galespo seem to know, and they want him dead.
Their hunt could bring Silanthia to its knees if we can't unlock Kyle's secret in time. But as enemies close in and forbidden feelings cloud my judgment, saving him could mean risking everything: my wings, my heart, and both our worlds.
The more we dig into his past, though, the darker and more dangerous the truth becomes. And, it turns out, it's not just Kyle harboring dark secrets.
I might be, too.
If you love stories of fated mates and forbidden love with witty, well developed characters like those of Leia Stone and gripping twists with hidden power plotlines like the writings of Jen L. Grey, then you will devour Wings of Death.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 20244 ⭐️ 1🌶️ A solid start to the Kingdom of Angels series with a solid storyline and well developed characters. I was hooked by the end of of the first chapter and had an enjoyable reading experience. I particularly enjoyed the attention to the world building in the book which can sometimes be missing in paranormal romance novels. Zarla is a Guardian Angel in training and upon graduation is bonded to her human on Earth. However, it turns out that he is more than he seems. Add in some betrayal from people in her kingdom and you have a gripping paranormal romance brewing. Strong independent FMC Fated Mates ❗️Abuse by parental figure ❗️Torture. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2024Not often have I read a book that covers angels and remain engaged from start to finish. This is only book ONE! Just so you understand there are going to be some questions that we will need answers for but we will have to wait. We meet meet Zarla who has completed Guardian Angel training and voila is now bonded to our new friend Kyle. Trust me we kinda need him because Zarla finds out she got friends and people who are not friends. So there is drama, we got parental issues and our girl Zarla is working through some internal stuff. Sprinkle in a little romantic interest which I personal think will ramp up next book but the way things are honestly, the story is solid without it.
Without giving much away, book one set the foundation, helps you understand why our leads are making certain decisions right now and also we learn there is more to Kyle too ;)
Thanks to the author for the opportunity to read, can't wait for the next installment.

Katrina is a debut novelist who is starting off strong with book 1 of her series. She has a unique vision when it comes to guardian angels and has delivered a good novel. It left me excited for book two, had intrigue, kingdoms that left the question of how does one define good and/or bad, and characters that I really enjoyed.
Zarla is a guardian angel who bonds to Kyle. We think Kyle is just an ordinary human, but he has a secret that could tear her world apart. She has a good group of friends and a group of “enemies” that you can’t help but love to dislike. She is strong, but does seem to show her emotions a lot. She struggles with trusting others, but her group of friends are solid. Their dynamic was really fun to read and see develop.
Love interest(s) are present, but I don’t know if I could really say who the main interest is or isn’t yet. It’s almost a love triangle, but not. The spice in this book is low and there is no why choose, reverse harem vibes of any sort. I would love for this to become clearer in the next book.
Katrina has a good story line and I am excited to see how it develops as the series continues. I look forward to her voice becoming more confident and the character’s development take off. I will definitely read book 2.
As always, review any author notes before reading.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 8, 2024I really enjoyed the interesting world in this one. Yes, there are angels and people they protect, but there are different angel worlds within the angel world (like different dimensions) and they don't like each other much, and on top of that there is an intriguing mystery surrounding the main character's mom that really had me turning pages. It has a lot more layers in it than I expected. It was well thought out and deeper than I had anticipated. I subtracted one star for some things that irked me that others might not mind. Half a star for a forced love triangle and half a star because I wished it started a little later. I really wish that it had started right before she was assigned her guardianship. If it had, I may have even been able to overlook the extra guy interested in her, because from that point on I was pretty engaged. So if a few hot guys vying for the same girl doesn't irk you, you'll probably love this one. And if you are bored at the start, just flip ahead a few pages. It gets soooooo much better when she gets assigned her human. I think I'm looking forward to reading more. It was a truly entertaining read that kept me turning pages, and thinking about it while I wasn't reading.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2024Was I ready for my mind to be blown for all the twists in this book. Not at all. You keep thinking that oh there's just a few here and there, no throughout this whole book there are so many twists that I didn't even know what to do. First of all I cannot stand a good chunk of people in this book. Once I learn more and more about them, I'm so glad I've never liked them. I won't say who and I won't say why I don't want to ruin it so you need to read to figure it out.
I honestly am in love with this book. I've never read a book fully about angels so I was like okay maybe I might like it maybe I won't. But oh no no no, I could not put this book down at one point I didn't even know it was 3:00 a.m. while I was reading this book and I was like oh maybe I should go to sleep. But I had to know what happened. Honestly I can't wait to jump into book two, and I know that there's another book but I don't think it's officially with the series it's probably a standalone but I'm going to jump into that book just as well. If you love books about angels, gods and goddesses, and a lot of twists and a lot of heartbreak. This is the book to read. Honestly if I can give it more stars I would.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!!
This is book 1 in a series and while some things are finished we are left with questions that I’m hoping will be answered in book 2 or even 3!!
The world building and character development is amazing.
I truely loved reading the way the different characters interacted with our FMC.
I can’t wait for the rest of the series!
