Remote Viewing (RV) is the ability to perceive and describe detailed information about a remote place, person, or thing--regardless of the normal boundaries of time and space. For over 25 years it has represented the cutting edge of research into the powers of the mind. Mind Trek provides us with insight into new perceptions and realities and gives us an understanding of how to deal with the doubts and fears of the RV learning process. By showing the effects research has had on the author as a subject, it points to consciousness as the ultimate time-machine and the mind as the gateway to human creativity. It also establishes our own clear responsibility for the design of our future. This book also provides excellent guidelines for how to begin your own journey toward perfecting the art of Remote Viewing.

As one grows old and reaches their senior year’s thoughts of their own mortality may frequently enter their minds. My voracious reading passion has taken me on topics from A to Z, from the scientific to the esoteric. One of my numerous interests has been consciousness, time, space and other realms. This is why when I saw this 263-page soft cover book (Mind Trek: Exploring consciousness, time, space through remote viewing by Joseph McMoneagle) on Amazon I decided to purchase it.

I had read some articles in the past about the Army research project called “Stargate.” This book was written by the man who they recruited for the program because of his proven ability to actually mind travel and report his experiences and his observations in various tests. My interests in astral projection and astral travel have fascinated me for many years and I found this book to be a compelling read. Even though this book is mainly on the author’s remote viewing experiences; nevertheless, he also relates other personal experiences with OBE and NDE.

This volume covers “the beginning, the NDE, aftereffects, SRI experience, initial efforts, altering beliefs, early tests, exercises, early examples, early stages, getting to know, remote viewing at TMI, targeting, retirement and death, opening the heart, another world, a snap in reality, how does it work, levels of RV, target of rules, Stargate, delusions and potentials and questions and potentials.”

If you are interested in the role our mind and consciousness play in exploring Near death and out of body experiences and the possibilities of remote viewing practices this is a must-read book for you. I found it to be an interesting and entertaining read.
Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: The Samurai Soul: An old warrior’s poetic tribute).

Joseph McMoneagle's book Mind Trek is an amazing book on remote viewing (attested to by my copy having tons of highlighted sections and dog-eared pages). In the first several chapters he talks about his NDEs (Near Death Experiences) and how that lead to Remote Viewing.

From there, chapters covers things like: altering perceptions about reality; different stages of RV; how RVers "see" the information and what kind of information comes through; best types of targets to select; early testing and examples; and lots of other fascinating stuff. The book covers a wide range of different aspects of RV, all tightly focused on McMoneagle's experiences with RV, and its life altering affects.

What really makes this a wonderful book on Remote Viewing is his coverage of some very heavy topics: like how doing RV tends to make you question your religious/spiritual beliefs; and what is reality (a question that comes up when you realize that you can access information anywhere - past, present and future - solely with your mind.) This is really deep stuff that I hadn't thought about in relation to RV until I read this book.

For example, in Chapter 11 - "Getting to I Know", McMoneagle talks about how he had suspended his disbeliefs in order to do remote viewing.

"...I had modified a sufficient number of personal realities or concepts, to unhinge my understanding of time/space, or at least the way I had been originally taught and understood it to work."

He says he needed to get from "I believe" to "I know" in order to construct a new way of viewing the world that he was now floundering around in. McMoneagle goes on to say he thinks its important for anyone who wants to learn RV to read some books on what reality might be and how it might be constructed.

"Concepts of how reality works are important to remote viewing because they have a direct bearing on where the information comes from and how it might be getting to a remote viewer. They also affect the allowances that might be made within the viewer's mind, the degree of temporary belief suspension, or how far a viewer is willing to go in order to accomplish psychic functioning."

I'm adding another rather long passage from that chapter here because I think it really sums up what a thought-provoking book this is if you are thinking about doing remote viewing and what kinds of mind bending beliefs you might encounter in the process:

"Information passes from the past to the present and from the future to the present. Over the years, through the remote viewing experience, I have come to know this as truth. Quantum waves do travel in both directions through time. Therefore, in the fullest sense of the word, existence becomes a sum of all information. Like a great sea with far-reaching shores. Its' a place where all possibilities exist simultaneously. There is no past, no present, and no future - there just is."

(Don't let the "quantum waves" thing scare you off, its not a book on physics.) I love books that make me rethink my own beliefs about reality. And this is such a book.

In chapter 16 - "Another World", McMoneagle talks about how there are NO LIMITS to what can be viewed via RV. He then includes a dialogue from an RV session he did that absolutely blew my mind. I'd tell you more but you might want to read it yourself without knowing what the target is. All I can say is WOW, WOW, WOW. The book is worth getting just for that chapter alone.

An amazing book, one you must have for your library if you are interested in Remote Viewing, physic phenomenon, and other things we currently refer to as "paranormal".

I hardly know where to begin, only than to say that I think I found the book I've spent several years trying to find (obviously, I'm a newbie to the subject ;)).

I've read several books on this and closely related subjects, and I must say that I had begun with Mind Trek. For those making their first foray into this subject, Mind Trek is highly accessible in terms of the historical and biographical information that gives context to the topic. Beyond this, the book describes exercises that you can begin to apply immediately should you wish to pursue RV yourself. For those already acquainted with the subject, and perhaps struggling, it may help reorient your focus and overcome certain roadblocks (notably, why things went so well the first few tries, only to be followed by one epic fail after another).

One last thing, out of the blue: you just get the sense that Mr. McMoneagle is a genuinely good guy, sense of humor, and completely on the level. I mention this because, candidly, this has not been the easiest time for yours truly, and in a way that I cannot precisely put my finger on, I am finding this book truly inspiring as I had not expected. .

I recently saw an article about remote viewing, and was of course curious as to exactly what it was, who did it, how it is done, etc. After searching through Amazon to find a relevant book, I chose this one. I thought it was an interesting read, and fully explains the "what it is" portion of my questions. Although it is not a step by step guide, it is a very good book to see what remote viewing is capable of, and the history of it within our own government. Kudos to Joe for showing us what remote viewing can do, and what it cannot do. The truth is out there, and Joe tells it to you. I would highly suggest reading this book first if you were like me and knew very little about remote viewing. After you have read it, then you will know enough to decide if you want to explore the subject further.

Mr . Review .
4.0 out of 5 stars A good book on Remote Viewing and more.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 5, 2021
Book starts off with the authors Near Death Experience and its after effects and how he went on to join the Army's '' Grillframe '' program ( Rem Viewing, early project name ) . Information in the book is provided on how to select RV Targets , Outbounder type RV and other Protocols . Discussed also are reasons for failure and there are a lot of references to a Robert Monroe ( an ' "Out of body experience " type expert , who teaches Bi Naural type relaxation states which helps before Viewing is started ) and there is a very good section on simple things one can do to learn to improve Remote Perception before moving on to RV itself . Some nice examples with good sketches follow . McMoneagle also discusses how the RV was abandoned by the Gov , R-Viewing '' Mars '' , how RV works , how long it takes on average to learn the skill itself plus the different levels , average rate of success , its potentials and lots more.

This is the third book on RV I have read , all from different authors and its by far the best book of the three . Note however it is not possible to learn Remote Viewing from any book rather the skill itself needs lots and lots of practice with a minimum of 18 months to really get up an running on this , practicing on a daily basis ( according to McMoneagle ) . For me in relation to this book , I would be happy to buy more of this authors work.

The content of the book is okay, but the book itself is of terrible quality. It's a POD book (printing on demand), with a very low quality paper. If I had know this beforehand I would have bought the ebook.
