- Reviewed in the United States on July 7, 2019There are to many words to describe this story! I took my time and enjoyed each chapter, and each character to the fullest! I fell in love with Marcie and Ben! But Mikhael and Raina made the story sizzle! Then combine Derek, Ruby, Ramona and Silas to the mix and the story would not let you go! My hate for Elagra was so strong it drew me into my hated past. I understood and hated her for the hurt she caused! But you can come out on the other side and grow from that pain! Fantastic book a must read. Thank you Joey W. Hill for another great book!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2019What happens when’s when the Light and Dark Guardians have a Problem they need help with? They call a Knight of course. Joey W Hill creates a supernatural crossover of her PNR Arcane Shot series with her series The Knights of the Boardroom. Something wicked is stirring in New Orleans and Derek and Mikhael know that the only one who can help is Ben O’Callahan.
Ben’s past is shaped from this wickedness and he and his wife Marcie need to battle it to save New Orleans, his soul and more. Hill takes us through a supernatural adventure with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing about what’s coming next. I love that Miss Hill gave us this book because I feel that Ben is able to be as close to his redemption as possible, while showing the strength that Marcie gives and receives from him. The cast from The Arcane Shot series are there to provide the supernatural firepower and what ensues is a story that will last a lifetime. Ben and Marcie, Ruby and Derek, Mikhael and Raina and Ramona and Silas make this a supercharged book you won’t want to put down.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 1, 2019Ms. Hill's Muse certainly called "Action" in this uber-fantastical crossover book, where the magic of Witches and Guardians meets the power of the Boardroom Knights. New Orleans is the setting and lets face it, if one can believe the forces of good and evil - light magic and dark - could converge and do battle, New Orleans and its mystery fit the bill perfectly.
Crossover books give readers a chance to combine the personal favourites of multiple, and in this case, seemingly disparate worlds. For me, the beauty of The Arcane Shot series, while very strong in character study, is stronger still because of the way it makes you look at balance between light and dark The idea of lightness presenting itself out of the darkness - that, "its always darkest before the dawn" theory - is an easy one for us to grasp but its the counter to that theory that is more interesting to ponder.
A reader couldn't find two more perfect "worlds" to bring this concept to life. In Arcane Shot its pretty much the sphere in which its incredibly strong characters exist and do classic, cosmic battle. The human side of this story relies on symbolism that can sometimes be difficult to follow when placed in the midst of a struggle of supernaturals. While not my personal choice for Human of the Year, Ben, with his history, is an obvious pick to endure the trial.
And as in life no one emerges unscathed. Light pushed the boundaries of dark, forces interceded where perhaps they should not have, and because of that or maybe in spite of it, lives were forever changed. No free rides and no quick solutions in a Joey Hill story. But always a thrill ride, and something profound to ponder while the ride is upside-down or on a vertical drop.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2019The Problem with Witches by Joey W. Hill is a super sexy and exciting crossover between her Knights of the Boardroom series and her Arcane Shot Series. This is a high energy adventure to save New Orleans and more. This story has twists and turns you don’t see coming. We get to see bits of the past that Ben has been hiding from us and to his everlasting surprise it only brings Marcie closer. I love that though she may be a submissive she is certainly no pushover when it comes to Ben and his well being physically and emotionally. There is action from Derek, Mikhail, Raina, Ruby and Ramona. The heat from Mikhail and Raina is steamy enough fog up your glasses. I think the love between the Knights of the Boardroom couples is magical making this crossover a no-brainer.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 19, 2019WOW!!! It was out of this world amazing. When you mix humans with the magical world of witches and guardians , anything can happen.
What the characters face is something that can change or destroy the life's of many people. Let me tell you that the action that goes on in this book was so good, it's magical. I couldn't stop reading this book because it kept me on the edge of my set.
The women in this book rocks!!
RUN!!!!!!! Get this book now!!!!! So worth it.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 7, 2019Wow! Be prepared there are some magnificent, breath stealing scenes that will knock your socks off. Combining Knights of the Boardroom characters (a real favorite of mine) with Arcane Shot series is a stroke of genius by Joey W. Hill. I really don't know when I have been so completely and utterly mesmerized. Two words....simply incredible. This is a furtherance of Marcie and Ben's love story with some real twists thrown in.
Do yourself a favor, buy the whole series and read it. You will not be disappointed nor will you be able to put the books down once you start.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 13, 2019I didn't want this book to end. I love all of these characters and having them all in one book was absolutely amazing. This mesh of worlds wasn't forced, it worked on every level. The writing style of Miss Hill always surprises me. I mean I expect the awesome but she always seems to kick it up a notch. I absolutely recommend this series and this book!

3.0 out of 5 stars never the two shall mix
I've read every single book by this author and believe she writes the human dynamic (and that applies to vamps and witches too) better than anyone else I've read. Hence, the letdown with this book. Ben and Marcie are my go-to couple and while their relationship was beautifully extended in the read, as was that of the other two couples, the two worlds collided and didn't mix at all well. I wasn't engaged nor convinced. It took me days to finish it and only because I kept hoping it would suit. It didn't, but the writing, as usual, was excellent. Three stars.
