    Josh Hilden writes in a spare style that gives glimpses into the nature of his characters, letting the imagination of the reader supply details. In this story a young boy is left at home while his parents are absent for what is supposed to be a short time. As in life, plans go awry. Told from the perspective of the child, this is a chilling story of disaster and unthinking courage.
