About the authors
Juliana Rew worked as a science and technical writer for the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado. She is chief editor and publisher of Third Flatiron Anthologies, a quarterly science fiction and fantasy publication available via Amazon. Third Flatiron is an Affiliate Member of SFWA. She also writes science fiction and is the author of The Unwinding series, as well as the Dragon Stead series.
Steve Simpson has never been able to work out exactly what he does, although he would probably feed the cat if he had one. He’s sold over 30 poems and short stories to publishers for various magazines and anthologies, and his Purpose of Reality illustrated collections were published by Meerkat Press in 2022. They include The Beautiful Horizon, which was a finalist for the 2022 Aurealis Awards in the Fantasy Short Story Category. Texture of Silence, with co-author Eugen Bacon, was released in 2023.
In the visual arts, artworks and videos created with his image evolution software have been shown at many exhibitions, and with data from wearable EEG (Electroencephalogram) headsets, he’s developed a system to display meaningful artworks from changing mental states, rather than simple waves.
In the sciences, he’s published over 200 research papers, most recently in clinical neurology, and awards include the Peter Doherty Innovation Prize, for WeldPrint™, technology to make vehicles safer. A monograph, “Time and Time Travel,” is hidden in the mists of the future, and he likes wood ducks, doesn’t everyone? In the ether underworld, he’s @inconstantlight.
Award-winning author Bria Burton lives in St. Petersburg, Florida, with her husband, son, and two wild pets. Her author motto, "Rekindle Your Wonder," stems from her desire to renew a sense of awe and wonder in her readers. She writes science fiction, fantasy, and inspirational fiction. Her short stories have appeared in over twenty anthologies and magazines. In 2022, she joined the Joy on Paper radio program as a Special Correspondent for the monthly Science Fiction BookBuzz. She has independently published two inspirational novellas: Little Angel Helper, a 2016 Royal Palm Literary Award winner, and The Running Girls. In 2019, Her Midnight Ride won the Silver Award in the published novelette category for RPLA. While she writes, her dog and cat do their best to distract her, which is why they star in her family-friendly short story collection and podcast, Lance & Ringo Tails. At St. Pete Running Company, she's a blogger and customer service manager. She's also a member of the Alvarium Experiment, a by-invitation-only consortium of outstanding authors who have collaborated on six anthologies: The Prometheus Saga Vol. 1 & 2, Return to Earth, The Masters Reimagined Vol. 1 & 2, and The Light Fantastic.
