    Books in the Nature of Desire series are stand -alones, except for Tyler and Marguerite’s story which spans two books:
    Book 3: Ice Queen
    Book 4: Mirror of My Soul

    This is the story about Tyler Winterman, former Government operative, successful businessman and celebrated and respected Dom and Marguerite Perruquet, Mistress M, business woman and coveted Dominatrix known as the Ice Queen. Both are Masters at the exclusive BDSM club, The Zone.

    In Ice Queen (book 3) Marguerite was told that she needed mandatory Submissive orientation. She picked Tyler as her “instructor” and agrees to spend a weekend with him at his waterside estate. They have both felt an instant connection and attraction to each other that neither had acted on though Tyler had suspected that Marguerite’s in-control personality hides a Switch. That weekend was an eye-opener that left them both utterly shaken. Marguerite’s instinct was to run, but Tyler, set on exploring their connection further masterminded a way to get her attention… that had dire consequences…

    This story is the conclusion of the Ice Queen by the same author, and is not meant as a stand-alone book, taking place immediately after the events that closed the Ice Queen. Tyler order the overhead screen closed and then goes about the process of trying to console Margeurite while at the same time getting her to acknowledge what they both know about their relationship. But by now the painful gates to Marguerites past are fully opened. Working with a social worker, Tyler discovers that Marguerite is an obsessive-compulsive personality, who, because of the horrors of her past, might not ever be able to fully live a balanced life. The social worker helps Tyler to understand that Marguerite has developed a coping mechanism, involving rituals and a very controlled lifestyle, and with those barriers broken down, now her ability to cope is compromised. This is not something that Tyler wants to hear. He has to relinguish some control himself and let Marguerite, a damaged personality, sort things out. Matters get definitely worse when Marguerites father is released from jail after serving his 20 year prison sentence, and comes for her to 'finish it'.

    This is one of the most moving stories I have read in a long time, certainly not one I expected in the back list from Elora's Cave - known for it's erotic content. I read both the Ice Queen and MofMS three times back to back - I couldn't get enough of the moving story, from the first moments to its conclusion. Yes, there is a lot of erotic sexual context - it is rated X for Extreme. But it is also a beautifully rendered story, touching, poetic, and fulfilling. I highly recommend it!

    OMG did I loved this book! Let's just say that Marguerite's performance was beyond my expectations and I just loved every moment of it. Characters were just so well developed and the book was so well written that you just have to keep going and wanting more even after the fact.

    I read and enjoyed the entire series, but I think Marguerite and Tyler's story was just the one that I loved the most. This one is by far my favorite. I enjoy reading BDSM; however, I rarely find an author that captures the true essence of the D/S lifestyle in their stories. Joey hit a homerun on this one and more.

    We frequently see the typical alpha male on submissive female and the reality is that while there are alpha male, the same way there are dominant women and women/man that enjoy switching between one and the other. Being able to read about it so beautifully with this story is just a great reminder of all the options and great things we have.

    If you have never read about BDSM, or if you have read other erotica want to be stories. I can assure that you want to read this one because it is 1 mega trillion times better than any other out there. This story has more than any other I have read out there, and I’ve been busy reading around. However what will get you to read it is how well developed and written it is.

    This is part of the series 'Nature of Desire'. This is book 4 in the series and follows the 'Ice Queen'. You cannot read this without reading book 3 first, it is a continuation of that story and imperative that you read it.

    Tyler and Marguerete pick up exactly where we left them in book 3, Tyler has sacrificed himself to make Marguerite finally let go in a BDSM setting at his club that he part-owns and although it has achieved the desired results it has left him physically battered and her emotionally shattered.

    This story follows Tyler as he delves deeper into her psyche and as he does so he releases all the complex barriers that Marguerite has erected over the years until she finds solace in the acceptance of her submission to him. Along the way we discover the story of Marguerite's past - it is truly heartbreaking. Marguerite is a true switch, she is a Mistress but she is also submissive, but only to Tyler and this relationship is the foundation of her introduction to a 'normal' relationship.

    Tyler is just (sigh), an absolute rock - his determination to show Marguerite love is astounding - he has decided that she will know love, and he will teach her. There is so much to this book, there is an over-riding spirituality to the story often alluded to through Marguerite's expertise on tea and tea-making and her elegance and grace is beautifully written and contrasts painfully with the raw, primal agony that she endures daily.

    This book does contain details of incest, child abuse and rape, autoerotic asphyxiation and strong BDSM.

    There is so much beauty in this tale of survival, JWH writes love so skillfully and shows that you only feel absolute love for someone when you are prepared to do anything to allow them to thrive including being harsh to be kind and also ultimately letting them go.

    This is a tale weaved by such a craftsmaster that it will stay with me as a standard for some time. Astounding.

    i knew this was going be good, but bloody hell!!

    we rejoin Tyler and Marguerite immediately after The Ice Queen ended, last scene to that book, first to this, after Marguerite had litterally beaten Tyler black and blue. Something snapped inside her that night, and this book follows as she puts herself on the line to find herslef, Tyler and the person she really is underneath.

    this book, god, its hard to write how PAINFUL this book is. so much pain and suffering, not just Marguerite, BUT Tyler as well, as i did not expect that Tyler to be suffering so much. we learnt about Marguerite's past, her abuse at the hands of her father, the death of her mother and twin brother, and what happened to her since then. we learn about Tyler's wife, how she died, his career in the CIA and what that did to him and what it cost him.

    this is not so much a BDSM book, as a book that really REALLY opens up two people, who have suffered, and what lenghts they need to go to to become who they truely are. there is sex, yes sir, and its hot and bothering! but also its a bit darker, and tells how Marguerite uses a certain technique to get her release, that is deadly.

    i sat, reading this at work, in my lunch break, sobbing, proper gut wrenching tears through the latter 3rd of the book, this is after staying up til 3am reading the first half, also in tears. so, if you gonna read this, and you MUST read The Ice Queen first, get the tissues ready!

    the book comes with a warning....This intense book deals with myriad psychological issues including incest and violence toward women and children. Contains a scene of females exploring their sensuality together....HEED IT!

    Well what can I say. This author takes you on a amazing emotional journey with these two characters. I wont go into details as there are three other reviews that describes perfectly how wonderful this book is. Its a follow up to Ice Queen, Im so glad the author decided to give these two wonderful people two books and it wasnt just wrapped up in one. Mirror of my Soul will and Ice Queen will say with me forever, the characters have a place in my heart.

    These two books are def a keeper, ones that you would love to read again and again.

    this is the follow up of tyler and margeuritte's story started in the ice queen. its equally as good as the first. parts are hard to read but the love story of these 2 damaged people is moving. the sex between the charcters is explosive. dark and erotic as all of hills books tend to be. i cannot praise this book enough and the same can be said for any book i have read from this writer.
