Ravenous: Taking Care of Him Kindle Edition
Chon, an enterprising woman with a passion for organization, has her eyes set on the prize—her own business. Thanks to the lessons from her stern Grandmother Wei, she's just one client away from achieving her dream. However, her final hurdle comes in the form of Dorian Zane, a man burdened with tormenting secrets and a demand for solitude.
Dorian Zane has but one wish—to be left alone with his work. Immersed in his relentless routine, he finds escape from the demons that haunt him and an unusual sense of normalcy. But when Chon stumbles into his life, he realizes she unknowingly holds the remedy to his soul's affliction. His need for her is profound, almost as profound as the steps he is willing to take to make her his.
His mission is simple yet cruel. First, persuade Chon to work for him. Second, ignite in her the same longing he feels. Third, convince her to surrender to his deepest desires. And finally, the most sinister of them all, tear her soul apart and satiate the relentless lust demons gnawing at him.
Will Chon succumb to Dorian's calculated advances? Or will she see through his intentions before it's too late? "Ravenous" is a rollercoaster ride of passion, manipulation, and twisted HEA that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Detroit native, Sylvia Hubbard, a former single mother of three, has worked tirelessly to promote and encourage emerging writers in Michigan. She independently published her first romance novel in 2000 and has continued to write in that genre, sometimes venturing into other subgenres. Always urban and contemporary styled, her writing is enjoyed all over the world. She has published over 55 books (paperbacks & ebooks)
The same year she published, Ms Hubbard also created Motown Writers Network to fill the lack of education and networking for Michigan authors online and offline. By 2004, she was frustrated that all the literary conferences had moved too far away from the city and co-created The Essence of Motown Literary Jam Conference held only in the City of Detroit annually.
In addition to romance writing, Hubbard has been featured at various conferences and workshops all over the United States and Canada, where she has taught authors how to sell their books on the Internet. She also published Internet Marketing for Writers & Businesses as a resource for those unable to attend her workshops. In the upcoming year, she will be featured in several anthologies and plans to publish additional e-books.
"I'm no superwoman," she states with a smile that seems infinite on her lips. "I'm just being an asset in the world instead of a liability."
Considered an addicted blogger by HoneyTechblog.com, nominated and recognized for her literary work in the Metro Detroit area, referred to as "A Literary Diva" by Detroit City Council and donned "Cliffhanger Queen" by her readers, she finds solace in speaking and educating on a variety of topics.
Her subjects range from Creative Intimacy, Single Parenting, Blogging, E-Books, Publishing (all aspects i.e.: writing, publishing, marketing & promoting online & offline), and personal triumphs with inspiration mixed in.
Never a disappointment, Sylvia Hubbard, has spoken in front of thousands all over the United States and Canada & has recently married her best friend residing still in Detroit in a Habitat for Humanity Home. - Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2017Chon is a multiracial young lady that has for most her life been belittled for being only half Japanese by her Grandmother on her father's side. However, her grandmother taught her skills added with the ones her mother taught her that has enabled her to succeed. Her brother Craig has control over her inheritance from the their grandmother and he makes her life nearly unbearable . His friend Austin was Chon's 1st love but he used her and left her wanting real love.
By chance, Austin gets her an assignment with Dorian, a genius engineer that is arrogant as all heck. Dorian is attracted to Chon but is determined to treat her like crap. Chon takes the hits but keeps doing her job to the utmost.
The mystery and intrigue begin when Chon finds the notebook of an engineer in the firm she is contracted to . The Engineer is later found dead and people begin to follow Chon. Chon begins a supposedly mutual beneficial relationship with her boss Dorian that ignites heat galore.
However, she is then threatened by Dorian's ex Onyx Heart who is lethal.
This book is filled with heat and lust with intrigue and mystery. I love any story about the Hearts.
I only gave this a 4 star rating, because Ms Hubbard needs a new proofreader. There were too many typos that made reading somewhat difficult.
However, over all this is a great read and I hope Ms Hubbard will pick this story back up to complete Chon and Dorian's life later..
Yes Chon has some character flaws and Dorian is hardheaded and hearted at times but aren't we all...Great Read and I am still a great fan of the Hearts..
