- Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2019I never had much sense of the history of Buddhism, and how it came down to the current Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso. This work details the preservation and transmission of Buddhism throughout the past 2 millenia, ending with some remarkable essay by Prof. Iyer on the flight and exile of the DL from Tibet. A very good read.
