    The one big drawback with ordering Kindle books to read on my iPhone is that if I don’t read them within a couple of days of ordering, I forget I have them and they disappear from the screen...which is why it’s taken me so long to get to Vampire Master, from the Vampire Queen Series, Club Atlantis. I usually don’t wait this long—Joey W. Hill has been a favorite author of mine since I read an early book of hers called Guardian of the Continuum back in 2003. It was—and still is—an amazing tale, and when Joey released the first Vampire Queen book in 2007, The Vampire Queen’s Servant, I found my new most favorite author. She has remained a favorite for all these years, and, as with all her Vampire Queen books, I could not put Vampire Master down. Plus, when I read the teaser at the end of the story, introducing the very first book in the series, The Vampire Queen’s Servant, I had to read that one again, which means I’m now reading The Mark of the Vampire Queen, which is the next one. All this is an explanation as to why it’s taken me a while to get this review up for a truly wonderful book, but I’m taking a break. I just don’t have time right now to reread the entire series, though that’s obviously where I’m headed.

    (Disclaimer: I’m sitting here in my office with five new, unread hardbacks by favorite authors that have recently arrived in the mail. Haven’t even looked at them since starting back into the Vampire Queen stories) This book was so good, and as always, Hill’s characters are so fully formed and well-rounded that you feel as if you know them intimately by the time the story ends. Ella is a beautiful young submissive on the staff at Club Atlantis, a high end BDSM club where Ella is a popular part of the regular human crew. She is unaware that Mistress Anwyn, the club’s owner, is a vampire. Nor does she realize that the man she’s been lusting after, Wolf, is a vampire as well. Wolf and Ella have their own unique sets of baggage, and watching the way Hill brings them together in spite of the danger and untold risks associated with the vampire world is truly a study in the art of writing a sensitive romance within a potentially devastating plot.

    If you like beautifully written books with characters you can’t help but love, and if a touch of paranormal makes your heart beat a bit faster, I can assure you that you will love this book. Joey W. Hill’s writing is truly an art form. Five stars aren’t nearly enough.

    It’s amazing how Miss Hill continues to create books that are within the same world, but so different from each other. Vampire Master can be read as a stand alone, but the reader will get more enjoyment from reading Vampire Mistress and Vampire Trinity.
    Wolf is a made vampire but still relatively young and Ella is a club submissive who hovers on the edge of falling in and out of crushes but being able to be everything her Dom needs. Both of our characters have such hidden depths, one who can’t get out of his own way to find happiness, the other that will settle for whatever is given her at the moment.
    The story was beautiful to read in that we get to see more of the workings of Club Atlantis and also visit our favorite triad. The range of emotion that Joey brings to her books is evident in Vampire Master as we watch our couple realize their feelings, but fight it for separate reasons.
    As Wolf and Ella encounter problems that push them together in ways they weren’t ready for, they have to walk that path as a vampire who’s not ready for the commitment of a servant and a sub who only wants to serve. Wolf is one of those Dom’s that is that perfect balance of strict but brutal, but Ella counters it with that sweetness that a true submissive givers to her Dom.
    I also love how Joey brings in cameos of other beloved characters and I really hope we get to see more of her characters forms Medusa’s Heart.
    Vampire Master is a wonderful addition to a favorite series and I can’t wait to see where she takes us next with the revelation of the fallout from this book.

    This was a brilliant book that was just what I wanted. This author truly has a way with writing it pulls you into the fantasy while still feeling logical and real. This story could be read as a standalone without feeling lost but you'll definitely get more depth if you read at lest some of the other stories like lady lyssa & jacob, Anwyn - Gideon & Daegans stories. Not to mention the awesome little short written for this couple where they have a run in in a book store. But seriously this story was a rollercoaster of emotions and sometimes I just wanted to shake some people. Both main characters were awesome and made you love them and feel all they where going through, not to mention the passion, romance & chemistry was hot, super hot. This story is a beautifully woven tale filled with romance, struggles, growth, suspense, action, passion and paranormal. I could totally see this couple having another book because I'd love to see how they completely settle into all the aspects of who they are together in general and how they interact with their different circles from vampire to bdsm to the everyday. But if not this couple does end up with an HEA that was grest; I just loved them so much I couldn't not want more. So overall a great story, wonderfully written and bursting with detail and emotion that will leave you wanting to stay in this world, would absolutely recommend

In Vampire Master we are back in the realm of Club Atlantis and I am just delighted to be there as Joey continues to explore the intricacies of D/s relationships, but, more than that, the complexities of friendships and of the heart.
    Written with her trademark compassion, empathy and awareness, Joey weaves her magic as we are drawn into the lives of Ella and Wolf. And, my goodness, what wonderfully fleshed out characters they are. Ella, so beautiful, kind, thoughtful, selfless; just gorgeous through and through, with layers of character that have you engaging with her and wanting the very best for her.
    And Wolf, well, he's just it. Just everything. Fascinating, deep, sensual, thoughtful, tough, masterful, caring, enigmatic. Both highly intelligent, with experiences which have shaped their lives and left scars.
    This is yet another of Joey's books which will linger, keep my mind mulling over beautifully constructed descriptions, enthralled that an author can take such potentially well trodden paths and bring to them a uniqueness and quality which is all her own. This book is pure gold and I have loved every single well chosen word. 5 stars are just not enough. 💖💖💖💖💖💖
