The Social Distance King: Introducing queens and kings to social distancing Kindle Edition
Social distancing is a new word and lifestyle for all of us. Sports and activities have been postponed, school is different, everyone is wearing masks and we haven’t been able to visit with our friends and family members for a long time. It can be a frightening and confusing world for a child as they experience this pandemic.
It can be very difficult as a parent or guardian to teach a little one why we have to act this way. Social distancing is a confusing concept for children, who are experiencing the most crucial developmental years of their life. Explaining this concept in a positive and educational manner is one of the most important things you can do as a mother, father, grandparent or guardian.
This groundbreaking picture book teaches your boy or girl about how we can slow the spread in a creative, imaginative and educational way. It will teach your child the foundational terms and concepts of social distancing. Give them the imagination of being a King or Queen of Social Distancing. This fictional children’s book will encourage your little one to keep partaking in this world-wide effort to end this pandemic.
What Will the Social Distance King Teach My Child?
• The Importance of Caring for Others – Social distancing is not just about protecting yourself… it is about protecting the people around us. Your toddler or grade school child will learn that if we all partake in these drastic actions, we will save our friends, loved ones and fellow humans from sickness and harm.
• Enthusiasm & Hope About the Future – This pandemic won’t last forever! It is critical for all children and young minds to understand this. Give your little one the hope and dreams about all they will accomplish and we beat this virus.
• How Their Small Acts Can Save the World – Children need to know how important each and every action they take is to the world. Every time we wear a mask, wash our hands or avoid large gathering is another huge step in the right direction to saving the world. This bedtime story will teach children how to become the King or Queen of Social Distancing!

From the Author:
Nothing brings me more joy than sharing joy with others. Growing up with a diverse cultural background and being surrounded by culturally diverse friends, has instilled in me the importance of tolerance. My professional background is varied as well. From web and mobile technologies, graphic design, to rapping, rhyming and writing music lyrics. I believe these different experiences have given me a unique perspective and have lead me to becoming the author and writer that I am today.
My mission as an author, to simply “share stories“. My hope is that adults, parents and children will enjoy reading these stories as much as I did writing them.

Reviewed in the United States on August 17, 2020Me encantó como en pocas palabras explica a los niños y adultos la importancia de mantener una sana distancia y todo lo que podemos hacer durante la cuarentena!!❤📚❤📚
- Reviewed in the United States on March 23, 2021Such a cute book. My four year old son loved it.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 4, 2020Cute story talking about social distancing and not being able to see friends/family. Personally I did not like the feel of the cover though, not your typical smooth surface.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 23, 2020I was less than impressed by this book. I am a classroom teacher and I was hoping it would address why it’s important to try to stay 3-6 feet away from others, but it really only addresses social distancing as looking like staying in your home during lockdown. If you’re looking for a story to read to your own children for that purpose, this would work, but for what I needed it doesn’t work at all. I’ll be returning it.
If you’re looking for other pandemic related picture books, I recommend The love behind the mask and Paula and the Pandemic. Both those stories worked for me to read to both First grade students and my own two children at home (ages 3 & 5).
- Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2020Words have meaning and today's current health crisis has created unknown variables and uprooted the daily routines of modern society. Children have questions and the book explores the definition of social distance or social distancing. The author does a great job addressing the options children have to continue to connect to friends and family as they are in their own castles. “You are not alone.” The author addresses the question of the use of masks that children are asking.’Being safe is smart and fun.” I will adopt this slogan as a reminder my house. The dedication of the book by the author Eric DeSiois eloquent and graceful message about our community and closeness during the physical separation while we do our part to flatten the curve of the contagion.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 8, 2020This book "The Social Distance King - Introducing Queens & Kings to Social Distancing" hits the nail right on the head with an easy to read and understand explanation of social distancing. Social distancing and other things happening in the world right now are hard for children to wrap their heads around, and having a picture book like this, that shows different day to day situations and talks about what they might be experiencing, somewhat normalizes it. Highly recommend ordering this book for your children even if they seem perfectly ok with what is going on.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2020A wonderful guide for youngsters about what social distancing means. The charming illustrations color in the story, which is told in rhymes. Kids learn what social distancing is, and what they can do and enjoy while home. Engaging, not preachy, the story will connect with young readers and the adults who read to them, too.
Timely - a great addition to your stay at home library! A teaching book that doesn't make the reader feel taught!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 28, 2020I bought this for my classroom to explain the importance of social distancing. It does not address this in the realm of 6 feet at all. It also mentions mask wearing but doesn’t explain anything about it. The writing is very choppy and some lines don’t even make sense.
