    In this story, witches and shifters have an uneasy truce that depends on them staying away from each other and out of each others land. While hiking a trail between lands, a witch and shifter meet and have a wild night of passion before finding out who each is when they are attacked by dire wolves and once safe, go their separate ways. Two years later they meet again, for him to find out they have a baby together. From there, it is about learning each other and their very strong daughter and all she can do, and how to ensure her safety from both the coven and the pack.

    I loved the story and how the author dealt with the reality of parents who have a child but don't really know each other and both wish to love and protect their child.

    Not a bad read, but a bit dragging in places. Giving five stars would have been easy if not for some of the language used in the book.
    It was aggravating when Becca referred to Amelia as a s—- in an early chapter. What mom does that! BS was used often as well. (It may be an author’s prerogative as to which words they choose, but they also need to consider their audience, the reader(s).)
    A few errors were found in this book. In one chapter, Dan is the focus, but it’s Elliott whose name appeared instead of Dan.
    Another chapter has a statement that left the pronoun “I” out that was supposed to reference Becca.
    Becca living in a cabin in the woods that had no indoor plumbing with an infant was sad. Having to hide her baby was sad.
    Dan, the baby’s father and wolf, was wonderful for the most part.
    The coven and the pack, on the other hand, were unkind towards baby Amelia.
    What a wonder this witch/wolf baby will become!
    Got time to spare, and like reading about wolves and witches, then this may be of interest to you.

    I really enjoyed reading about the first witch/shifter child. Found it interesting how early witches and shifters in this series start to develop their abilities. Another shifter and witch fated mates and the family drama from histories that did not go well. Can't wait to read the next book in this series.

    This is a well-written story with fully developed characters and an interesting, well paced plot. There there are family relationships that result in support and rejection. There is love and respect that grows. It also shows how hard it is to overcome warnings you've been given your whole life that turn out to be false. I enjoyed reading this story and I'm glad that it ended happily.
