I just published my first short story on kindle and when the book was made live for sale on kindle the images weren't included in it, is this normal? Will they appear later, or is there a problem with my formatting?

If the images aren't showing in your MOBI preview file, they're not there, and I'd advise UNpublishing the work until you get the formatting straightened.

Also, you need to tell us what word processor / platform you're using to produce your oeuvre.

Thanks for responding, I used scrivener to do the writing and then exported the file to Microsoft Word on my PC, when I completed the edits I then saved the file and when I uploaded it to kindle the formatting was right for the written portion but the pictures were missing. I was under the impression that when the final file was published the images would show up but instead there were links that appeared where the pictures were supposed to be. The links were pictures of a camera so, maybe I'll try unpublishing and saving my file in a different format and then uploading it again. The pictures show in my original document but not the published version on kindle.

Doesn't Scrivener have an option to export as an EPUB file? Someone on this forum swears by Scrivener and if they see this, they should be able to help you.

You should always check the content of your book using the Online preview (At the very least!)

I still use WORD (2003) and it works.

Make sure you INSERT the pictures as JPEGS

Sometimes when you start moving stuff from 1 platform to another, the images get wonky. They work on your computer because the images are located in your computer... somewhere.

When they go to Kindle land, there is no direct link to your images that are tucked safely away in your computer.

I still use Calibre to generate old style MOBI files

Here is a link to an OLD post (Hope it works!)

Here is the "Cleaned" up version:

NEW POST FOR WORD TO KINDLE (CALIBRE)
