Well Gee, I guess I have to be VERY CLEAR, so here goes:

No, apparently, it's WE who have to be VERY CLEAR, because you're so busy being a nasty a$$, you have totally ignored what GL has told you, which is, sport, the correct answer.

In REPORTS,

Scroll down

hit UPDATE REPORT

IT ONLY SHOWS how many books sold each day for the past 30 or 90 days. NOT which ones and how many of each. THAT is what I want.

That's because YOU DID NOT READ GL'S RESPONSE. I just tested it myself. Go to your sales dashboard, IGNORE THE dropdown that says "30 days," etc., and PICK THE DATES FROM THE CALENDAR, to be TODAY'S DATE, both in the from and to calendars.

I don't want to use the stupid drop down menu and hit UPDATE REPORT again and again for EACH book.

AND, guess what? If you pay attention to what GL told you, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO.

I want to know Book 1 sold 3 copies
Book 2 sold 1 copy

Creates Space has it so I can just select Today, and it will show me how many of each book has sold. If CreateSpace can do it then Amazon KINDLE can do it.

AND IT DOES. After you've set the calendars to only today's date, you hit UPDATE, and VOILA!!! YOu get a chart that shows you all the books sold today, and all the KENP today.

EASY to understand.

YES, it IS, when you actually read what someone told you.

So, any questions?

No, I don't have any questions. None at all, because I RTFI. When you're done bloviating and dishing out utterly unwarranted sarcasm and snark--to people who, mind you, are trying to HELP YOU, you can then scroll to the BOTTOM of the "today's report" display, and SAVE it and export it as a spreadsheet, which then tells you EXACTLY how many of each book sold today.

The only reason I'm posting this is for other newbs who come along with the same question. Given your attitude, I was just as happy to let you sit there and stew over the utterly incorrect premise that you couldn't get this information, but...<shrug>. There's always one person on this forum who has to be an utter jackhole each day, and today's your day.

Oh for the love of kittens! USE THE DATE BUTTONS TO CHANGE THE DATE. UPDATE THE REPORT BEFORE SCROLLING DOWN TO GENERATE A DOWNLOADABLE REPORT.

You will see, ON THAT DOWNLOADED REPORT, exactly how many copies of each book sold on each Amazon site, plus how much each earned, for the ONE DAY YOU INPUT INTO THE DATE RANGE BUTTONS.

Yes, there's an idiot here. No, it's not the rep.

Did you notice that somebody nuked your reply? This is where I bugged out last time I took a sabbatical from this place. If a$$hats are at it again, with all the false spam-reporting, I'm outta here. It's not bad enough we deal with this type of abuse--and it ain't like we're getting paid, G, then we should blow this popstand and let the chips fall where they may. I know you like to help the newbs, and me too, but...really, is it worth this type of carp?

No, I didn't notice that. Guess it was "re-approved" since I see it now. Heh. :)

Yep, it's getting to be more trouble than it's worth trying to help out here anymore.

BUT... I made a document with pics, so I'm going to try and share the link. Because... well, because. :)

By the way, I usually wait until the following day to generate and download the previous day's daily sales report.

That way, I'm certain all the sales have been reported and have a more accurate count.

Yep, trying to help others equates being SOBs.

I always thought the SOBs were people who asked for help and then called those who tried to help them names.

Let me get this straight: we're SOBs? The two people who went out of their way to help you? Along with all the other posters? GL, in fact, told you the answer to this in her very FIRST reply. On May 1st. In her fourth paragraph, on the first page of this thread.

In which she told you:
gldrummond wrote:
If it's ebook sales you want, click on "Month to date" unit sales. If you want daily ebook sales reports, then yep, you have to use the dropdown menus on the dashboard. If you want a daily accounting, run a daily report. You'll see exactly how many copies each sold, plus what they earned.

GL should have written her second post, asking you "what part of 'run a daily report' don't YOU UNDERSTAND?

You're obviously one of those people who dismisses what everyone else says--and god forbid that you read down to the FOURTH LINE! Oh, the horror of it! That someone would expect you to--gasp--READ!!!! The TYRANNY! We're such SOB's!!!

Oh, puhlllllllllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze.

Despite the fact that you've been a nasty piece of work through this entire thread, ranting about how stupid everyone is, and "what part of X don't you understand," or "What part of TODAY don't you understand?," and so on, some of us stuck around to help you. GL (that SOB!!!) actually even made up an exhibit for you, with PICTURES, (to save you READING!!!). A little "get your sales report by numbers" document. Yeah, you're right--we're just SOB's.

If we're being SOBs, by doing nothing more than quoting your rude and ungracious posts right back at you, then maybe you should look in the mirror and stop acting like an entitled little snot.

GL, I'm sure that other newbs will thank you, but why you did this for this person, I'll never know. Why bother? He still hasn't even had the graciousness to bloody well THANK YOU for the 3x you had already answered his question, nor for your efforts in making him an exhibit, in pictures, as to how to get the PRECISE REPORT HE ASKED FOR.

Honestly. What a freaking JERK. And not exactly the brightest bulb in the box, either, eh?

Bless your heart. Of course, I know that you are a very nice person--not to mention, pretty darn successful! Not a tipical (sic) harridan, at all, unlike yours truly. (Sorry, kids, couldn't resist; parentheses used in lieu of the brackets, as brackets interpret everything between them as a link).

To the original poster. Your request shows how little you know about the publishing business and how well off you are with Amazon.
I have been traditionally published and can tell you that I am only given a record of sales once every six months and that often they only pay once or twice a year.
They don't pay even a quarter of what you can make on zon.
No traditional publisher will give you any of the info you request and will offer services not even one tenth as good as amazon.
You don't know how good you have it. Stop complaining and be happy for what you have with zon.

Hey, James:

Yeah--and the irony is that as the icing on the cake, the report this guy was looking for already existed, AND, GL told him, only a short time after he asked it, exactly what to do. As did Marjorie, if memory serves. But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo, he had to sit there and abuse everyone about how STUPID they all were, etc., because he simply couldn't take the time to read more than the first line of everyone's responses.

Sorry, but my patience with this type of poster here is at an end. None of the people who donate their time and knowledge should be subjected to this type of crap. I mean, really--if everyone who is donating their time at the KDP gets abused, why would they stick around? I'll never understand people who ask for help, and then act like total dimwitted jerks to the other people who make every effort (in this case, correctly, mind you! ) to help them. Un-freaking-believable.

I'm not fond of such posters myself. If they already know the answers, or don't think anyone here can give them the answer because everyone else is an idiot, why the heck do they bother posting to ask?

Your prognosis as a publisher - and as a human being in general - is not good.

Fortunately, if you would like to change that, you do not have far to look for the source of that difficulty.
