KENP Data not updating

Hello,

This may be a regularly asked question but I published my e-book yesterday and received pleasantly surprising highs of 900+ pages read on its first day, then on its second (yesterday 13/02/17) that number has rested firmly at 0.

I find it unlikely that it has gone from 900+ to a flat 0 and I'd be more understanding (though disappointed, of course) if it read something along the lines of 1 or 2 pages read because that would at least register as some sort of activity that has been recorded.

My question then, is it likely that the data is in a backlog and not yet updated on my report. The day has been and gone and nothing is registered. Is it normal to take this long? Is it a glitch or perhaps currently being experienced by others?

Perhaps I'm wrong and it simply hasn't been read at all that day but I just find it highly unlikely.

Many of us have dropped out of the Select Program when our last 90 day term ended. The 'unlikely' abounds. Be glad you did get the 900.

I'm having the same issue. My book has been out for over a month, averaging between 200-1000 pages a day every day, but for the past 4 days nothing. It is highly unlikely that you will go from 900 pages to nothing. Sometimes there is lag in updating. Hopefully, that's the case for you.

I did some tests recently and found delays anywhere from 16 hours to 3 days. However, as Donna said, it's just as likely that the data are never recorded.

I repeated it with a brand new title yesterday, before it was announced to anyone else. The full read did show up, but it took around 18 hours. Of course, this is just one data point. Your situation could be different.

I was getting a lot of 1 to 4 pages read in the last few months. That not being enough to read much of anything. I took all of my books out of the select program to see what would happen and have not had one page catch up. My last six weeks are a solid blue line of nothing. I can only assume that people are using the 'flip page' &/or the system is not working correctly.

I'm pretty sure the Page Flip bug is still around because, according to the Zon, it's not a bug but a "feature". I still have a few shorts and one bundle left in Select, but after the term is up next month, they go wide. The only decision for me is whether to continue keeping new releases in Select for the first 90 days.

But doesn't that beg the question; how is it I received the 900+ in the first place? That was day one.

You are correct that the report is not updating based on my typical reads for 8 novels. :(

My first two books both got hundreds of KNP pages even though they weren't exactly "successful." My latest book, out a little over a month now, has received exactly 47 page reads. My blue line has been flat for over three weeks now. That and the fact that Amazon's imprints dominate the "best sellers" list in the Kindle store (although they do not dominate other best seller lists) have led me to sense a disturbance in the Force. Like many others, I will not be renewing my enrollment.

KENP shows only 5 pages read for my book in 28th January, then zero since then. Last week my book was read by a contact in facebook who happens to have a Select account. She read some of the pages. KENP didn't update. Like others, I also selected to opt-out of the program when the 90-day period is over.

I think there are major problems with the Select program. I had a few (and I mean a few) different areas show a few pages read for Dec and Jan.No way do 1 to 4 pages read tell anything about a book and I do not believe that no one went back to read more. With all of my books now out per the end of Jan, ZERO pages read show for Feb so there is no catch-up.

My KENP graph has been flat-lined since January 8th 2017 - a few 1-3 page reads before that and then nothing.
Best of luck with your book - 900 pages on its first day out is impressive.
