I had a book priced at 1.99, getting the 35% royalty rate. I changed it to 2.99, and checked the box for 70% royalty. For all international sites (I'm in the US), the rate recalculated at 70%. For the US site, the rate stayed at 35%! Why? I keep clicking 70% again and again and again, and it won't change.

I suppose now I'll have to contact customer "service", but that could take weeks. Is there anything I'm not doing right?

Very odd. There should be two lines:

Amazon.com
$ USD
Must be between $2.99 and $9.99
35% n/a $1.05
70% $0.01 $2.09

So yes, there is a line for 35 percent, which is the royalty you get if the book is purchased by someone in Mexico, for example. And below that should be the line for the 70 percent royalty, which you get if the book is purchased by someone in the US or Canada (and perhaps a few other places I don't know about). The middle figure is the download fee, which in this case is none for the 35 percent royalty and one cent for the 70 percent royalty.

Problem has been fixed--whew! before the next sale was made, fortunately.
