Hi

Not sure if this is the right forum for this but there's similar questions here anyway.

I uploaded my ebook on Thursday the 12th Jan having selected the 70% royalty option and priced it at $3.99 for amazon.com and having checked the boxes for automatic GBP and euro conversion on the UK and Euro amazon sites.

The book went live on Fri AM and all was fine except it's priced at $4.12 in the Amazon Kindle store. I rechecked Bookshelf and it's correctly priced there at $3.99, so can't edit. I'm not too bothered about the diff but would prefer $3.99 as that's what I wanted to set as the price, and this sort of thing makes you concerned about systemic instability.

I've sent a message about it thru contact link but may not get a constructive reply for a while and am concerned about this causing future problems, so here I am.

Anyone got any ideas? I'm UK based and have the same ebook listed on Smashwords at $3.99.

They add the VAT on to all book prices in UK. If you want it to sell for 3.99, then you have to figure what the VAT will be, then subtract that from 3.99. If you don't know how to figure that, someone on your side of the pond should be able to help you

I read on another price post that the Vat (since Jan 01 is based on the Luxenburg EBook VAT of 3% which works out to the 3.99 + the 3% = 4.1097 or somesuch ant that is where you get the 4.12 from??
