I had my book on Createspace and could order wholesale copies and proofs. I was just duped into moving the book to KDP publishing and am being told AFTER the move, that I can only buy my book retail now! But, I can feel free to move my book back to Createspace after I buy a new ISBN for it. O sure, because I have an extra $125 just laying around. If I cannot order bulk on KDP, then I will buy a new ISBN. And I will move my books to BookBaby.

WHEN is KDP going to allow me to print my books wholesale? No, sometime in the future is not good enough. No, "Yeah, we get a lot of requests for that." is not an ok response. Do it. Do it now. Don't lie to people to move them from Createspace to KDP Print.

Yep.

I was just duped into moving the book to KDP publishing and am being told AFTER the move, that I can only buy my book retail now!

Yep - many have been duped and there has been many posts on these forums about it. You can lower the price, make your purchase, then raise the price back up. You do make a royalty.

But, I can feel free to move my book back to Createspace after I buy a new ISBN for it. O sure, because I have an extra $125 just laying around. If I cannot order bulk on KDP, then I will buy a new ISBN. And I will move my books to BookBaby.

They also offer a free ISBN at the zon. If you decide not to publish with the zon, the largest outlet, you only hurt yourself. That seems silly to do since it was your own mistake.

WHEN is KDP going to allow me to print my books wholesale?

If they know, they are not telling.

After thousands of posts citing the many deficiencies in KDP-Print, the innumerable warnings against abandoning CreateSpace for KDP-Print, and KDP-Print's own upfront admissions about features not yet available, I don't think duped is the correct word. It was a poor choice. You can undo it by simply unpublishing and going back to CreateSpace, as others have claimed to have done. As to ISBN, if you can't use the one you bought (why not?) and can't afford another, simply use the free one provided, as most publishers do. Thousands of CreateSpace publishers have also seen the KDP-Print offer over the past year, yet were not "duped." They did their homework.

You can buy your books wholesale from KDP but only when they are draft never-published. During that time it is in the drop down menu.

Even though that is a drawback with KDP Print, I have found the quality of printing to be excellent. I just got back some new copies and they are exact duplicates of ones ordered 6 months ago.
