My eBook and account info got wiped

I had to reenter my information as it was lost. I had to reenter my name my address and phone number and bank account info and my ebook was missing so I had to re upload it.

But it did not show up in my bookshelf. I reuploaded it and I hope it updates the book. I had my email links wrong and wanted to add in a link to the Kindle store for the book in case someone wanted to buy it and was reading the book without buying it.

This won't create two copies of my book will it? I swear it was missing from my profile along with all my personal information as well. I am new to KDP and today was the first day my book was offered for free. I ranked #9 in the free high tech sci fi ebooks today. So I feel it was doing well, but cannot explain why my author info vanished and why I had to reenter everything. A glitch in the database maybe?

Ah, yeah, it might.

Usually, when someone goes to their KDP account and discover that it's suddenly empty, that means they aren't logged in with the correct information.

See, every Amazon customer account has a blank KDP account just waiting to be used. However, many of us didn't know that, and came to the KDP area to open an account.

So we basically have two KDP accounts. If we browse around on the Amazon site, that can kind of cancel out our KDP log in, substituting our Amazon customer log in info. Thus, blank KDP account when visited.

If you log out of your KDP account, and then log directly into it with your correct email and password, you'll find your bookshelf and account info as you left it.

I'm not sure what you should do if that is what happened, and you've now filled out all the same info for your customer account attached KDP account. :\

Wow! yes, and when you buy something from Amazon, they will find that twenty year old credit card. That is out dated, cut up and forgot about, and try to charge to it. If you had an Amazon card, they want you to get a new one. I hope I have the two accounts in the right place, it is something for me to remember IF I run into any trouble.
