Last year March was the slowest month for me as well so I was expecting this month to be slower but the next few months picked up again for me, thought I did do a bit more promotion. sometimes It's hard to tell what's good sales due to promotion and what's good sales due to the time of the year.
So its a slow month. I publish a new book last thrusday and sent the genres I wanted to Amazon. The were finally placed yesterday afternoon around 2 pm. FINALLY! Over the next six hours the book went to second place on the bestseller list and is selling like crazy. I wake up this moring and it has disappeared from amazon. You click on the cover and it says it is not a valid webaddress on amazon and kicks me back to amazon's home page. An hour later, even the cover disappears. You search for the books name and nothing appears.
I've already lost five days on the not new release list gettin it placed in a genre. Now i'm losing more time. I've asked them to change the pub date so I won't lose any days and guess what, "WE DON'T DO THAT!"
The noids are yelling that Amazon doesn't like nine of the top twenty five books being by one author and is sabataging my efforts. I just wish they could respond in a timely fashion. My new book sold more than a hundred in the brief time it was up. I'm losing sales but so is amazon.
Butr what can you do? They just don't move very fast.
I should have never allowed them to go to that computer class. I thought it would get them out of my hair but darn it, now they're really dangerous. One of them types at 600 words per second. It smokes a keyboard.
I've noticed a bump in sales this last couple of days since Apple released their latest innovation. Not so much on Amazon, but more so on the Apple store. People must be playing with their new toys again. Works for me, Will
This week has been pretty good for me as well. I thought it was spring fever catching up with everyone. (And on a big plus! I was scanning my books and thought, "Oh, someone returned one, but no, it was a borrow..."
(Good for me is a lot less than a lot of folks though...It just means I'm averaging 2 sales a day across all of my books/short stories which includes all of my sales venues...which is great for me..)
I'm feeling happier, B&N and iTunes just updated SW...I'm rich, rich I tell you! Nah, not quite, but selling considerably more on iTunes than Amazon this month. B&N's showing an upswing too, small, but an increase nontheless. Apparently Apple have done something new with the ipad?? Lots of people reporting better sales over there.
Thanks:) I want to do this for a living, so where I'm at right now is WAY below where I plan to be. I compare everything to that magic number. (Which at .35 a book is 292 books a day or at 2.00, 50 books a day. )
