Hello,
I don't understand the payout works if someone can help me. I put my book on Amazon in October 2017. I have sold over 400 books to date. When I look at what has been paid out to me, it is showing that a direct deposit for $25.00 was paid on Dec. 29th. I don't understand. 1. December 29th has arrived yet....2. Why am I only being paid $25.00 for over 400 book sales? Can someone please help me. Thank you!

You claim to have sold 400 books "to date," but the only payment you'll receive this month is for what you sold in October. Did you not review your month-to-date charts or peruse your previous months royalties table? At the end of January, you'll be paid for whatever number sold in November. All of this is covered in the help pages.

Yes, you are correct, it's not yet the 29th, but I don't understand your confusion. KDP is not responsible for crediting your account. Your bank has been notified of the amounts through ACH; on or about the target date, your bank will apply FX rates and credit your account according to their own internal policies.

Your book is currently a freebie, which seems an odd strategy, given that you seem to have no other book for readers to go to. If your book has sold as well as you claim over the past three months, then, essentially, what you're doing is losing sales while your book is selling very well...you receive nothing for freebies.

ETA: I just read your third ( ! ) posting of the same question. You might have mentioned you were asking about paperbacks rather than e-books. Still, since you published through KDP-Print, the answers are mostly the same. Had you published through CreateSpace, you would have received your first payment after thirty days (i.e. last month) rather than sixty. Good luck with your book...selling so well in print but not in digital is highly unusual.
