I'm not sure why but all of the units ordered for my book are not showing. Two of them are but a friend bought one last night and they showed me on their phone and everything. Does the KDP system just take a while to show it or is there possibly an issue. I'm relatively new to this so I was just wondering if that was normal?

It takes a while for one end of the system to catch up with the other.
Now, with Christmas, the Zon is swamped.

Hello! I go by the Historical part. That will show what was bought and how over one year. Or maybe more?
They may even have Five Year History charts. That is a new feature. That is the simple part. So, a few hundred pages
of my stuff has been read. Up to 20 books sold. That is funny. It is okay on Kindle, but Kindle has a lousy
basic concept anyway.

Why not publish this stuff on CDs which hold a lot of data? Unless that is obsolete, too. It may work for some people.
There is one personal comment I could make, but shall refrain. The public may take it the wrong way.

Sorry to hear you are having a problem, but I am having the same problem too.

Had books ordered from friends and also self way back since October; and know of several other sales not showing, and still not on list even though I have emailed them over and over.

So I am afraid to say I have no real faith in the system!

I do hope you do get yours fixed ok

When a person orders paperback for self or ebooks for self or as a gift, Do I not receive a royalty?

If your own books, yes if ordered at retail price as a customer would purchase.

If your paperback was done via CreateSpace, and you're ordering author's copies (at a deep discount), those do NOT count as sales.
