"Due to a recent technical glitch many books, that were either published or republished, got stuck in publishing. We have noticed that for a number of books, the edits have updated on the website but for some reason the books are still in "Publishing" status. We're unable to provide any further insight on the issue due to its technical nature."
I have 11 books that I updated more than 60 hours ago and they are still frozen on 'publishing' on my Bookshelf. The sales pages are not showing any prices, so nobody can buy or borrow them. I have had one email reply in response to mine, saying that they know there's a problem and 'the technicians will fix it as soon as possible'. But how long is that?!! I am losing income by the apparent lax attitude being shown in this matter. Very disappointing.
I published my ebook on 4/30/2012. It has been marked as publishing on my bookshelf and still is as of now (5/3/2012) I checked and it is live on amazon. Just out of curiosity if any of them sells what happens to the royalties? Are they counted? Do I get my part?
Not positive, but I don't think it is affecting sales. I've been getting about 1 sale a day for my book, and today I got 4 sales and 1 borrow, even though I've been stuck in "Publishing" for about three days now. Still...hoping it gets resolved quickly, as I'm hoping to change the price and run some promotions soon!
I've sold copies while this glitch has taken place. However, on the sales page, there is no "look inside" option available, so I think that might suppress sales. It isn't showing up as a select book, so it can't be borrowed and I can't set it for a free promos either.
Has anyone tried to upload a book in the last day or so? Does this glitch affect just books posted around the end of April, or are books uploaded since then affected too?
I have eight books effected by this glitch. It's been as much as 3 days for some of them (simple pricing adjustment). It's annoying, and I know the sales are backed up too, because I bought one of them on Monday to see if it was displaying properly in my Kindle (that viewer is a piece of garbage on the publish page), and that sale didn't show up until TODAY.
What really angers me is that I am stuck in publishing for 4 days now. I can't make necessary revisions and my book is still selling bad copies. They are going to turn into bad reviews. Is Amazon going to remove all bad reviews caused by their problem that is not allowing me to make important revisions? It is embarrassing and it's making me look bad.
To make matters worse, I am in KDP Select so I can't pull it from sales and I can't sell it anywhere else. I feel like I am getting screwed here and there is nothing I can do about it.
