I've seen the thread concerning the technical glitch causing books to stay in unpublished status beyond usual waiting periods. But my entire bookshelf has been empty all day. Is anyone else experiencing this problem.

Make sure you are logged in to the right account. Many people have more than one Amazon account (e.g., a customer account and a publisher account). If you are logged in to your customer account and go to the KDP site you will see an empty bookshelf. I think all of us have done that at one time or another. ;o)

I have the same issue for the last two days. I am yet to hear back from Amazon. I know they are swamped trying to deal with some other glitches, but it does become more frustrating when there is no feedback or acknowledgement of your concern. I feel their pain but at the same time it is alittle disconcerting when you loose all control of your publications and cannot work to improve or promote them. Hoepfully we'll hear something soon.

I am also having same problem.
None of my books are showing, i.e. empty book shelf.

However, my books are listed on the amazon.com, when searched by the author name or title etc.

The Bookshelf web page is showing "Add new title" button twice, nothing else.

However, these two buttons are NOT doing anything, when clicked on them.

I think I found the problem...I am sure Amazon has made some changes to their internet riquirememts for browser. I went to someonelse's house and logged into my account from their computer and the books show up there. S some changes have happened that we are not aware of. When I got home I still can't see my books.
I am hesitant to start making changes to my compute without knowing the real problem. Is this a specific push to upgrade to a different browser or is this a genuine sftware glitch. I don't know. But the more I am left in the dark is the more i begin to start to wonder all kind of stuff.

I have Mozilla Firefox and Google chrome and they are NOT going to Amazon kdp
because (l think) they may be competetors (???) with amazon.com in the self publishing business.

This is frustrating. We do not have anyone from Amazon kdp to answer our questions
or give some technical support in resolving browser problem(s) ?

I did not change anything in my browser. Looks like, other internet sites, change our
our browser settings/options without our knowledge or permission or awareness.

You could attempt the suggested fix: LOG OUT OF KDP AND LOG BACK IN WITH THE CORRECT CREDENTIALS.

I use Chrome, and have no problem seeing what's in my bookshelf when I'm properly logged in.

Many of us have TWO KDP accounts: the one we signed up for and have been uploading books to, and one that is automatically attached to our Amazon customer accounts.

When you're on Amazon and browsing, you are sometimes logged OUT of your KDP account and into the 'blank' KDP account attached to your customer account.

SO LOG OUT OF YOUR 'BLANK' KDP ACCOUNT, THEN LOG BACK IN WITH THE PROPER EMAIL ADDRESS AND PASSWORD.

Your books will be there once more. ;)

I can see my last month's sales correctly.

I think this indicating I am logged into correct account.

Only Bookshelf is NOT displaying correctly.

The reports pages could be cached so that you're still seeing them.

It doesn't hurt to try the recommended fix and see if that does, indeed, fix your problem.

I'm using Chrome, and can see my bookshelf and reports. I can also see both when logged in with Internet Explorer.

I appreciate your response but this has nothing to do with logging into the wrong account. I have only one account.

If you have an Amazon customer account, and directly signed up for KDP, then you have two KDP accounts. An 'active' and 'inactive' one.

Guys, we don't offer this advice because we think you're stupid or anything.

We offer it because it's happened to us, and in almost every case of someone coming to this board to say their bookshelf is suddenly empty of all their books, that's what happened.

They were on the actual Amazon site on their customer account, and so were logged out of their active KDP account, and into the 'inactive' one attached to their customer account.

But if y'all don't want to try the suggested fix and see if it works, that's up to you. :)

I now get what you are saying. It is considered two accounts even if you are with the same company. I will try that approach and see if it yeilds any fruitage. Thanks for making it clear.

No problem. :)

Since you were able to do a 'fresh' log in on your friend's computer and see everything, I think that's going to fix it for you.

I'll also tell you a 'fix': Make certain your Amazon customer account email and password are the same as your KDP account's. That's been preventing 'blank bookshelf syndrome' for me over the past several months now. I did change my email address and password for both, to the same things. ;)

Since that usually solves the problem, emptying the browser cache, re-installing the browser, or rebooting the computer would've been my next suggestions.

Both browsers and computers can do weird things at times. ;)
