If I have not given 'exclusive' rights to amazon to market my Kindle file; can I sell it myself (computer to computer) and/or list it with whomever I wish? Thanks, Danny

Yeah, as long as you haven't given Amazon exclusive rights, you can sell it as you see fit. Many other sites sell Kindle ebooks, Amazon is only the exclusive seller of the Kindle technology, not the format that can be used on it.

I think I may have most the answer. It appears I CAN sell it to all my readers; however, I think I should alter the question to confirm the answer I got was to mean a: Kindle FUNCTIONAL file. In other words I wish the file I am selling to be capable of being downloaded by the buyer to place on his/her personal Kindle after I allow a download to their personal computer.? I hope, in my ignorance, I am making sense. Thanks, Danny

I think I understand what you mean. Amazon owns the distribution system and the servers that maintain each customer's kindle library. This means that you could sell your kindle file to a customer from your website, he downloads it to his PC NOT his kindle. He would then use the usb wire to transfer it from his PC onto his kindle. Neither of you have any way to get it into his online kindle library at Amazon.

The book would function. It would be the same as reading the book if downloaded from Amazon or reading something you wrote and converted using Amazon's free conversion service over email.
