I thought you wrote "honest." Making "a deal" inherently leans on honesty, because each may be influenced by what the other has said. I know it in my own case, when I read a story I thought was no better than a 3 star, but the writer had given me a 5, I felt somewhat squeezed.
I'm not sure that review exchanges is the most direct route to "honesty."
June- your book also needs a good edit. There's a major error in the first sentence.
I realize this is a cathartic true story thing. I'm sure it is very emotional for you and all that, but if you are going to put it out there for the public to buy, you have to get it as professionally put together as possible in order for people to take it as seriously as they need to.
In Afghanistan a Government minister is kidnapped and killed. A British army helicopter is lost. And a British secret agent goes missing.
In London a criminal gang is churning out counterfeit money. Preparations for the London 2012 Olympic Games are well underway. And Dave Gold is wrongly arrested for murder.
Released from custody Dave sets out to prove his innocence. His enquiries lead him to the counterfeiters and bring violence his way. Fortunately Dave can look after himself. He’s the coach for the British Olympic judo team. But when he also attracts the attention of Afghan terrorists intent on sabotaging the Olympic Games, and more, it begins to look like he may be out of his depth.
The police and the security services have their hands full and are slow to fit the pieces together. Will they be able to work things out in time to stop the terrorists? Or will it be left to Dave to unravel the mess into which he has inadvertently stumbled?
What kind of a review do you expect? Good cookies! Make them!
I write murder mysteries for one. How are WE going to exchange reviews? Good murder! Give me more!
By the way, I don't know if you are reading your own thread, but you are getting typical replies by the basically illiterate ... like the person who keeps on writing about her AWFULLY WRITTEN porn ... and the other "writer" who keeps pushing a molestation "book" that is about 80 pages long.
Shonova must be a joke because she dedicates her porno garbage to her children. And then writes obscene, incomprehensible drivel.
June is just hopeless ... dear, nobody wants 80 page books. Have you ever gone to a store and looked at books? They are all longer than yours. And someday you may notice that writing countless messages in this forum is not going to get you readers. A good novel will get you readers.
Try using a little tact, personal attacks do not help an author grow.
I have not read June’s book, but I think maybe that you are being cruel for no reason. First, it is based on a true story. Molestation is no laughing matter. I could see were this book might help victims come forward and maybe find a little peace. This book might change lives. I applaud that.
In addition, 80 pages will sale. It will sale all day long, and far less pages, I might add.
