Is there a place with DETAILED instructions for creating the contents (format) of a hyperlink so that I can point buyers from my website to the Amazon page for my book? I have skipped around the associate site and must be looking through the instructions because I can't find them.

Are you an Amazon associate? Or in other words, do you have an affiliate account with Amazon? If you are, you can go to your book's page and then at the top there's a button that says:

"Link to this page"

You click there, set your options (like text-only) and Amazon does the coding. Then you just have to copy and paste it into your website HTML.

Below the Buy button for your book is a hyperlink that says Share. Click on that and a window comes up with a lot of stuff but also a short, beautiful url like this one:

Permalink: http://amzn.com/034580404X

Ignore "Permalink." The rest is your better basic url.

You can build these yourself, of course, using http://amzn.com/ and the ASIN of your book.
