I went to the Home page of my K3 Kindle Keyboard and i kept hearing some lady mumbling.....

I finallly turned up the Volume key on the K3 and it was reading the home page contents to me

if i selected a book it would read the title/author

if I opened a book it would read the book title and give the location number....

I have the Text-to-Speach turned off and still it talks

it will not shut up!

What gives???

Oh, dear... when you start to hear The Voices, that's usually not a good sign... If they tell you that you must go to Paris immediately to put Charles VII on the throne, wear fire-resistant clothing.

Sorry, I'm on a first-gen Kindle, so I can't help you. But I wish you luck!

Somebody else had the same problem and solved it this way:

**What (finally) fixed the problem was to go to "Menu -> Settings -> Menu Guide" and turn it off (on the home page). This disabled the menu reading that was most distracting.**

Well, you only THINK that these things are machines. They are actually run by tiny squirrels who sometimes fall asleep or get drunk. That's why turning a computer off and letting it rest overnight will often cure a problem with it.
