Hey!

As you guys know, there's a "wide spread" problem with regards to books uploaded for Kindle end of June to date. That means that many of us outside of the US can't buy or sell new books.

I need someone from the USA who CAN buy my book to 'gift' it to me. In return, I'll buy your book even if it's more expensive than mine.

First one to respond with a "Sure" gets it. I'll then send the link and the e-mail addy where it should go to. Don't wanna receive 4624362346 of the same gift :D heh!

Thanks in advance ya'll!

Len

Hey fineware,

It's where people mainly outside the US can't purchase any Kindle books uploaded after the 26th of July. We get "Pricing information not available." and "This title is not available for customers from your location in:" messages.

According to other posters on the forum, Amazon techs are aware of the issue and working on it as a matter of "top priority"

I just hope that they sort it sooner rather than later...

I was wondering that. I'm from outside the US and I've been buying and selling books without a problem

Interesting... where are you situated?

If you go to http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008HFW16Q and can buy the book as a gift, the offer to purchase your book will apply to you too despite you not being in the US.

Lemme know...

Thanks!

Lendr,

I'm outside of the US (in Europe), and I can see the price on your book just fine.

Loved the cover, BTW.

Thanks fresiegrant :)

I spoke to another friend of mine in the UK and she could also see my book fine. I guess that everyone in the main confines of Amazon (.com/.co.uk/.it/etc) are okay. It's those that fall in other domains (I'm .co.za) that suffer this curse.

Could be wrong, but it sure is frustrating :s

Sure, I can help. Go to my website and click on "contact marti." Then send a link and your email.

You don't have to return the favor.

You do realize that "gifting" the book isn't going to help right? All that a gift does is give you a credit to use to buy something (anything). If you can't buy it the usual way, you can't buy it through a gift either.

So, Marti- you're just handing this person whatever the amount of their book is.

Thanks martitalbott, but unfortunately andresanthomas is spot on. I didn't even realize this :(

Okay, I'll sit back and let the Amazon Admins fix the bug and will work on the next book in the meantime...

Thanks for catching that, andresanthomas :)

I assure you I know about gifting, I do it quite often. Yet I am always willing to trust a fellow author and help when I can. I was thinking he probably couldn't download it anyway if he can't get on the US site to buy it.

martitalbott, thanks again for offering to help. I just checked again (probably out of habit more than anything else) and guess what? Yep! It seems that the problem is fixed!! I was able to log in now and the price was there! :))))))

I went to your site and when my wife saw the word "highlander" in your books, she asked me to download Marti Talbott's Highlander Series 1 (Anna, Rachel & Charlet) immediately.

I did.

Knowing her, she'll end up buying and reading the entire series.

Women... :P

Anyways, just wanted to say thanks and show you how one small gesture of goodwill can turn a small profit.

Take care,
Len

I hope she likes it. No matter what else you hear on these boards, giving the first book in a series away free really helps sell the rest. It's the best promotion in the world.

@martitalbott - How do you KEEP it free though? If it's in Select, you only get 5x days every 3 months. Is yours free on a permanent basis? If so, how'd you do it?

LOL Paul! I won a few times this week alone. Odd how many uncles I had that I never knew existed...

That said... If you really want to be an instant multi-millionaire (for a while), simply take $10 and head on over to Zimbabwe for a few days ;)
