Has anyone had issues with reviews not showing up? I've had people tell me they have reviewed my book and the reviews are not showing up. What can I do about this? Is there a way to contact someone at Amazon/Kindle publishing to get this rectified?
Also, I did a promo for a free day and the book is still free 3 days later! I am wondering why and how to change this. Any advise those with experience can give me is appreciated! Thanks
I have reviews not showing up as well. I don't know if I should contact someone. Is there a general rule about people who know you or are friends of a friend reviewing? The people who know me and have read my books want to review my books. I tell them that I only want honest unbiased opinions.The good and the bad because it will help me. I don't know if other reviews are not showing up from people who would not know me or tell me. I just reviewed a book (different genre than mine) that I bought last week, and the review showed up right away. So yes, very curious about the reviews gone missing.
This has happened to me, too. Someone who I gifted a book to in a contest emailed me and said that she actually emailed amazon after she had submitted her review 3 times and it still had not shown up. They told her that her account was "related" to the author account. What???
Word of mouth is a big way to get the word out about our books, so people that know us will be reading our books and wanting to post reviews--good or bad. Is there a guideline against this now?

I agree 100% that I want 'real' reviews. In fact, the hardest thing in the world to do is to get an honest opinion about something you have created.
That said, I also would prefer that if someone I know (relative, co-worker, drinking buddy) says they are going to write a review, what I tell them is this:
GREAT! But please do this. Write it HONEST because if there are things that you didn't like, mistakes that you found, or were just flat bored with it... I WANT TO KNOW. However, if you think the book is worth less than 4 stars, just send me the review so I can make my book BETTER. Getting 3 or less stars is going to hurt sales and we are in the business to make money. A Negative review is GOOD FOR YOU if you are the only one that sees it.
Recently, I was asked to perform a review and I agreed. However, I found so many problems with it that I felt extreamly uncomfortable putting my name on a review that had 4 or 5 stars when I felt 2 stars was over generous.
Maybe this is gaming the system some... but I'd do the same thing if I read a complete stranger's book. I'd tell the author what I thought was wrong but I see no reason to trash someone in public. What's the old saying... If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.
My latest book has had at least 4 reviews submitted by readers in three different states and none of the reviews have showed up on Amazon. I have no reason to doubt these readers. It has been nearly two weeks and there is one review submitted after these 4 that has been put up. Why? Who do you ask about fixing this?
I'm having the same issue. I had on 5-star review from a relative and their Amazon username must be too similar to mine (I show up as Crystal Cierlak, she shows up as C Cierlak) because her review is missing. Unfortunately this happened after some troll who never bought the book gave me a 1 star review. So now I just have the 1 star review and gone is the other.
I have had the same exact problem. A colleague bought the book and told me she sent a review three times, twice in response to Amazon's email ASKING for a review, and then she tried it directly on the web-page. It still hasn't shown up. She called Customer Service and they couldn't find any trace of the review...
the new amazon review policy is absolutely wacked. so i wrote this to them...
To whom it may concern,
I'm emailing you despite knowing all you're going to do is copy paste some predetermined answer you've been using to frustrate your customers, but I'll complain nonetheless, with hopes that this might sink in.
Amazon's new review policy is absolute bogus. How many credible reviews have you removed thus far? How many authors have you frustrated in the process of doing so? I thought your new policy was set to remove malicious content, and yet, you have deleted everything BUT that. Shame on you!
At this rate, all you'll be loosing are authors who will be reading up on this 'new approach' you've been taking, and as a result, these authors will all be switching out of the KDP program and away with other competitors. Is that what your goal is? to drive people away?
Fix this problem at once. Your new screening process is HORRENDOUS!
