KDP admin- will someone PLEASE advise the community as to when the "scheduled maintenance" of reports will be finished? For HOURS now it has said it will be back "very soon."

Most of us are assuming it's not a scheduled maintenance due to the time of day and the length of the outage. The entire community would likely appreciate some type of update with an ETA of things being back to usable.

Thank you in advance,
M. Lauryl Lewis

Agreed!! I'm running a free promotion and I have no way to track my marketing tactics. Please just give us an ETA.

Hello Marcy and Michelle,

Has anyone heard anything from admin yet about this scheduled maintenance issue? I was just wondering because it has been going on all day.

Thanks anyone for information about this.

I agree, I am concerned that my sales throughout the day will not be accurately calculated based on the issues Amazon is having. Obviously it is a huge issue that they are not able to fix or reports would have been rectified or we would have received word on what is going on and WHEN we will be able to view our sales again.

I highly doubt this thread or anyone's e-mails will get any type of response.

As I said in another thread I feel an odd sense of anticipation today.

This forum has been buzzing that things have not been right since back in September and the last couple of weeks have an entire new wave of people experiencing all time lows for sales.

Yesterday all the tags disappeared in indy (and only indy) books, today they are back.

I think the reports being down for this long (at least 8 hours I would say) means they may finally be trying to get things worked out.

It will be interesting to see what shows up when they're back running

A KPD author friend of mine had the same thing today, all their reviews vanished for a few hours then came back. It feels to me like there's quite a lot of system overhauling going on . . .

Three of my reviews yesterday disappeared and never returned. My guess was that, a neighbor, and the two people who live with her, all bought my book, on seperate credit cards, but afterwards to help me out, all placed a review but out of the same computer and IP address. Apparently Amazon didn't like it, even though, again, all three were verified purchases and made on separate credit cards... seems like too much of coincidence that those were the reviews that disappeared.

I'm thinking there is a HUGE problem at Amazon right now with the system being down so long, and sales, in my opinion, probably have a ver good chance of not showing up at all. Hopefully that's not the case.

Well in many people's cases there haven't been a whole lot to report anyway.

tell you what, I would gladly give up a few hours sales for them to get their crap together once and for all.

It looks like Jeff Bezos (aka 'The Bozo CEO') fired one too many IT grunts to make his bottom line look better.

The result? Amazon has crashed far worse than Boeing's Dreamliner (which only had a few minor battery meld-downs).

But of course this Amazon meltdown didn't happen on the 'front end', ie, web sales.

It happened on their back end -- providing tracking and accountability to those of us who write the books that generate their sales.

Just one more instance where we the 99% get screwed so that the 1% (or in Jeff's case, the 0.01%) can thrive.

The reports are working again. There's an explanation on General Questions in a post called Actual News (followed by some other words that didn't stick in my head).

That's my reasoning. I don't mind losing all of today's sales if it means a smoother and more trustworthy system in the long run. Although I would like to know if that's what they're trying to do!

Just so everyone knows, my reports are back up but I not only didn't make ONE sale today (after weeks of consistent sales) I lost approximately fifty sales from my totals I calculated yesterday! I hope this issue is rectified soon, how many sales are we really losing??
