Is there an easy way for me, as an author/publisher of a KDP book to see what passages are being highlighted? I would like to expand on a Pull Quotes section I added to my website and having access to this would really help.

That link takes you to The Shining by Stephen King. Scroll way down to the bottom and you'll see: Shared Notes & Highlights: notes are on the left side of the screen, highlights on the right SEE CORRECTION ON LATER POST. I assume it happens automatically, although there might be a minimum number of notes and highlights before it shows up or something. Also, since they're called "shared" notes and highlights, maybe people have to set their Kindles to allow their notes and highlights to be seen by the public. I've never been interested enough to check into that.

Okay, I was curious. I went to Kindle Help and entered Share Notes and Highlights and found instructions. You do it by choosing Comment and then clicking Share, which shares your comment on amazon.com. You can also choose to Share the comment on Facebook and Twitter.

I never noticed that before! Many thanks for the pointer.

However, I look at one book that I extensively highlighted and don't see my comments there. Yet on another, I do. A mystery!

(There are not comments, actually, though that's how I highlighted them. Maybe that's the difference. If you click on comment, the highlight gets posted.)

That will take you to the page with step-by-step instructions. As I understand it, you highlight a word or passage. If you just want to share the highlight, you tap Share and you're done. If you want to make a comment (note), after you highlight the passage you tap Comment, type in your note, and then hit Share. I've never done it, so I could be wrong.

I picked Breakheart Hill by Thomas H. Cook, one of my all-time favorite books. I highlighted the first sentence, tapped Add a Comment, wrote a short note, and clicked Share. It was on the Product Page by the time I got to it.

Then I picked a passage from the book, highlighted it, tapped Comment and hit Share without adding any words of my own. It showed up immediately on the View Shared Notes and Highlights side of the page (the left side; my previous post was wrong: all the shared stuff is on the left side, the highlights on the right side are "Popular Highlights" and I don't know how they get there).

My name, as it appears in my amazon customer account, not in the forums, is on the Product page, which explains why you need to choose to share.

I think the Popular Highlights must just be pulled from the computer data. If a lot of people highlight the same passage, it gets posted. The number of highlighters is shown, but no names.

CORRECTION: The left side of the screen has Shared Notes and Highlights. The right side of the screen has Popular Highlights. My other post above has the correct details about sharing notes and highlights.
