My favourite movie director M Night Shyamalan has published a Kindle book called "I Got Schooled" and I am very keen to read it as it seems to share my own views on the american "education" system (aka american brain-washing system), but Amazon tells me the book is not permitted to be seen by Australians.

Anyone know of a way to get around this Fahrenheit 451 situation.

Could it be that the publisher or the author didn't post it to Australia? Or it was published before the Oz store opened? Is it perhaps in paperback as well?

This is likely to have something to do with ebook rights outside of the US (or wherever it's published), not some kind of censorship. You should be able to order it in paperback if you are willing to pay the shipping. And, there's always torrent download if you can find it, if you don't feel like that's unethical. You can always buy an e-copy when it finally does get to Oz to balance the ethical books, if you need it sooner than whatever publishing process makes it available.

As Elizabeth mentioned, the publisher may have bought geographically restricted rights. Either because they used an old-fashioned print-oreinted contract, or because the authors wants to sell foreign rights to another publisher.

I think the word is out that all spammers have free reign at the KDP Community Forums.

Hell, the jerks get to overwhelm the forum with the crap and I have been modded more times in the last week than all previous times combined. Additionally, modded posts NEVER show up, even after a few days.

I'll be surprised if this goes thru - perhaps I should commence adding links, offering my services, etc.

I believe you will not run into geographic restrictions if you purchase here: https://www.omnilit.com/product-igotschooled-1281063-278.html and sideload it.

Here they have hardcopies for sale. If you never found the digital copy maybe it would be easier to just get this.
