WHY did sale not appear on royalty graph?

I met a gal on Facebook this morning 8/9/2014 and she said "buying your book now."
As a newbie I check the sales graph a couple times a day. It is 4:30 and nothing appears to have been purchased today. I wrote her and she sent me the sales confirmation, and she indeed did buy my book!

What's the story? Why does her purchase not appear. Yes, I have refreshed the browser 100 times.

Any help/answers appreciated!

Maybe she did, maybe she didn't. People lie about this all the time, including relatives and friends.

Also, just as a point of clarification, what shows up on the graph are orders, not purchases. Purchases are registered on the month-to-date report, and only appear there when the purchase has been successfully executed (the customer's credit or debit card charged).

And rarely are the graph and month-to-date report exactly in synch. One usually lags behind the other by a 4 to 36 hours. Usually it is the month-to-date report that dsoes the lagging, but not always.

Edited by: jm14 on Aug 9, 2014 4:50 PM to add: Okay, if you have the sales confirmation, check your month-to-date report. And make sure it's the right one for the sale, that is, the right regional Amazon site - .com, .uk, .de, and the like.

And above all, relax. If it's really a sale, you will be credited for it.
