Generally, uploading and converting your content takes only a few minutes with Digital Text Platform.
The process of making this content buyable (“live”) on the Amazon Kindle Store takes 48 hours for English titles and 2-3 days for all other accepted languages. Publishing a title involves integrating your content into the Amazon.com global catalog, i.e. creating a product detail page, addition of content Amazon's search index and the Amazon Kindle categories, etc. Please note that some elements such as the product description will take around 24 hours to propagate to the title’s detail page after it becomes buyable, but customers will be able to purchase the book once it has been published to the site.
On November 25, I published a book on Kindle, called Deep Spirit. But every time I or others try to locate the book in the Kindle Store, it does not show up. When I try to access it via the Digital Text Platform it shows the status as “Live.” But when I click on the “Live” link, all I get is an error message that says: “Looking for Something? We’re sorry. The Web address you entered is not a functioning page on our site.” Why is this?
I spent many hours formatting html for this document on Amazon’s Digital Text Platform, and it is disappointing and frustrating not to have it show up. I have "republished' it four times, but it still doesn't show up. Can you please look into this and let me know what the problem is.
Also, it took me an hour or more to track down an email address (firstname.lastname@example.org) to contact "someone" at Kindle. It would be much more user-friendly (and author-friendly) if you published a phone number where authors could contact you to fix problems.
This is in reply to "dtpadmin" (I'm assuming you are with Kindle DTP admin): It would be helpful if you would actually read what is posted in a forum. I published my book on Nov. 25—THAT WAS 11 DAYS AGO!! So telling me that "it takes a few days after your content has been processed . . ." is just nonsense. That is not doing your job. You need to look into this and find out what the problem is.
I also noted in my post that within two days my book did show up as "Live"—but clicking on the link just gave (and still gives) that error message.
Please find out what the problem is and fix it. thanks.
Every time I put in the description and key words nd press submit, they disappear. Are they still there though or what am I doing wrong?
Also the print version of this book was originally published in 1991, but do I use 2007 for this Kindle version. The site doesn't seem to accept an earlier date than this year.
The Third Valley by Ben DeWitt (ASIN B0013B8296) was submitted for publication in dtp format last Friday and so far it is not published. This book was previously published in dtp with some formatting problems so we "unpublished" it and fixed the html formatting problems and resubmitted it last week. Is there any reason it is not yet published? If there are any technical problems with the book, please let me know and we will address them.
Thank you for looking into this for us.

I finally got the cover to my book submitted to go along with my book I had already uploaded. Everything was completed over a week ago. Today is March 6,2008 and my book still isn't available. This is a long LONG 12-72 hours don't you think? I know a lot of people that are anxiously awaiting the availability of the book on kindle. What seems to be the hold up?
