I usually make at least 1 sale a day but have had nothing sold for 5 days according to the report system. Is is reporting new sales currently? I know last month it didn;t report for a few days then started again. Anyone else having this issue?

Actually, I thought the same thing. I have a sale a day generally, but have had nothing in over a week.

...I was going to blame it on the economy :)

Yeah, I myself am a bit suspicious. I haven't made a penny in about two weeks, and while I won't rule out the possibility that I've only earned $2.50 in sales thus far in October, it seems rather unlikely...

The economy is slow. My sales are down across the board. If people can't afford to eat or put gas in their cars they are not going to buy books. People are loosing their homes. Amazon can't pull sales out of the air.

I sell my books across several networks so when one has low sales I can make them up on the others. So far it has kept my royalties about the same overall. Don't just depend on Kindle book to sell your books through. Even though I do very well with the Kindle Book distribution network, I have to remember that it makes up a very small percentage of the digital media retail market.

Also try promoting your books yourself, create a website, MySpace, FaceBook and go to Yahoo.com and scroll down to the bottom of the page and select add a site. ou can add a direct link to your book for free.

When sales are down, market your book. Don't depend on Amazon to market it for you. Amazon will market Amazon and Kindle Book, but not anyones book, unless you pay them. Which is something I am considering. Amazon has a program where they will put a flyer about your book in orders they fulfill for their customers.

Just so you don't think only your sales are down, mine are down by 50% across the board. Times are just tough.
